We had an amazing experience and would definitely stay here again! It was my second time and Kijani and my family's first time. Tina and Lavender at reception went above and beyond to make sure we were as comfortable as possible - we requested a pedestal fan for the bathroom of one of our rooms as it felt a little stuffy after a shower, and they delivered it to our room within 15 minutes, and anytime we requested ice or a snack it was delivered to us promptly. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and professional - particularly Steven and Sipi. They provide a daily turn down service which is very useful to keep the mosquitos out. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the decor is charming. The pool and garden areas are also lovely - we enjoyed our time at the hotel as much (if not more) than at the beach. We were in rooms 4 and 5. Room 4 is more spacious but both rooms were very comfortable and included massive verandas with a very sturdy hanging bed that was great to relax on. The food is also delicious and there are a variety of lovely spots to dine in, besides the rooftop restaurant. The cherry on the cake are all the tortoises (big and small) that really add to the overall charm of the place.

The location was easy to find and we felt safe moving around in the area after dark. The Queen Deluxe room was great. The staff was caring and attentive. The room was clean. The “balcony” or the open room near bedroom was beautiful, cozy and pleasant to spend time at. There were mosquito nets on the bed. It is obvious that lots of love and effort has been put into restoration of the building.

Ras Kitao Holiday Villa in Lamu provides accommodation with a garden and a terrace. The property has sea and pool views, and is a few steps from Manda Beach.

From the moment we arrived, Milimani Villa felt like somewhere truly special. The villa itself is beautiful, peaceful, spacious, and has that perfect Shela atmosphere where you can completely slow down and enjoy yourself. The chef’s cooking was honestly exceptional — every meal was delicious, beautifully prepared, and felt so personal. We genuinely looked forward to every meal and would happily come back just for the food alone! The staff were another huge part of what made our stay so wonderful. Breakfast: as we all had different sleeping patterns we made our own breakfast - fruits, eggs etc was plentiful. The very private location on Manda island was soothing and serene and very beautiful -the house itself a unique architecture with wonderful Lamu furniture and decorations.the swimming pool delightful and our junior spent hours and hours in it playing with her mum
