We had a wonderful stay at Alpl Resort! It is a charming place to stay in a beautiful area. The room was very large and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfasts were hearty. The wellness and play areas are well appointed. And the owners are so kind. We left talking about when we can go back!

The photos don't do the place justice. It looks nice from the photos but sooo much nicer in reality. Such an authentic place to stay in, very naturally cool during the July heat. Rooms are super clean and comfy. The host was also more than welcoming and the breakfast experience was royal. Would love to return.

Great staff - willingness to check us in after reception hours. Plus everybody was trying to speak English for the customers' sake. Our room was extremely clean with a nice smell of freshly washed bed sheets. Great breakfast. I loved the view from the balcony - there were green fields around with a lot of cows.

Everything, the location is a little bit far from the town centre but it is so peaceful and clean, the facilities are very good, the staff speak several languages and are super helpful, they when helped me to get a cab for the early morning when I had to take the train to go the airport. I spent a month visiting Leoben for business and I was able to do everything there, sleeping comfortable, shower in peace with good pressure and temperature, cook and keep my food for good time with the mini-fridge with a freezer drawer. The internet there was incredible good, I enjoyed it thoroughly during the whole month.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and the view from our room was awesome. I really enjoyed the people at this hotel. They even let us park in their lot after we checked out so we could go for a long walk and see the town. 😉

    The hosts cared for us like we were guests in their home, yet it is not a home it’s a lovely hotel in the heart of old town. Our room was lovely with custom furniture and an updated bathroom. The candlelight procession to the basilica walked right past the hotel and was so special. Due to train delays we arrived very late and the restaurant was already closed but the host called other restaurants to find one for us that was open and the hostess even walked outside to lead us there! The location is just minutes walk from the Basilica and all the shops and restaurants. Breakfast in the morning was very nice as well. The hotel has been in the family for 6 generations and it is clear they were raised to be good hosts! Their daughters were there helping mom and dad a bit too and I can tell the hotel will continue to be in good hands when their time comes! I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

    The interior design is beautiful, our room was spacious with a nice view towards the main square and the bathroom was pristine. The staff was very kind and helpful. The available parking lot made it easy to get to the hotel in the stuffed little city (not all hotels there have dedicated parking lots). The breakfast was very good and fresh, however it could have included a bit more variety, personally I was missing scrambled eggs or baked eggs. (There were only boiled eggs in shell)

    It is in a quiet small village in an astonishing natural area. It is with a beatifully kept garden. They are very thoughtful and caring about pet owners snd pets. (brochure, complimentary snacks and poop bags, blanket snd bowls in room, towels at garden doors to dry dog after walks). Swimming pools, saunas, steam cabin. Wonderful hiking spots and breathtaking nature at arms’ length.

    Our house was so comfy and clean. Walls and doors were good sound-proofing. Kitchen was well-equipped, we cooked a lot. Ski slope and toboggan slope was some meters away from the entrance of house. Our host was really helpful: she changed immediately broken toboggan and other needs.

    Leoben is a small, pretty town.

    Leoben is a small, pretty town. My hotel Gastof Zum Grief had a superb location, literally 2 minutes from the main square and right by the river. It’s easy to walk around Leoben which has many bars and restaurants in and off the main square. Lovely country walks by the river and also a shopping centre in the main square. I ate in San Marco, Trattoria Roma, Zum Greif, Stadt Meierei,and Schwarzer Adler - all very good.

    It is a small nice city.

    It is a small nice city. Especially in summer there are a lot of sport facilities. Surrounded by mountains you have a lot of possibilities for hiking, mountain biking (VTT) , trail running or swimming. And you can do a lot of different day trips to many beautiful places (even by public transport).

    The mine is interesting - but most enjoyable for German language. The town is really nice - here more time you can count just for walking down on old streets. We did not have too good weather for Leopoldsteiner see - in a better time this can be also a good program. The best part however was the walk we made next to the ski jump area - the real beautiful Austrian landscape with nice view, small farmhouses, good hiking trails - best for cycling and also for walking. Here you can really count a day.

    Semmering is a rather nostalgic place.

    Semmering is a rather nostalgic place. Everything reminds of "past glory". If one likes such an atmosphere, he/she is just right. Surrounded by woods and mountains multiple footpaths invite for every kind of relaxing excursions within a green nature.

    Great location for a skiing holiday if you don't mind being away from shops, bars etc. Nearest restaurant is about 20mins walk up the mountain. On the other hand it's quite a nice place to be "stuck" in, has a warm relaxed vibe, the facilities are great and the staff super friendly. Pizzas are very good!

    Leoben is more a town than a city, even if it is the second...

    Leoben is more a town than a city, even if it is the second city of Steiermark; one day is more than enough to visit the city itself, but in the neighborhood there are some places that worth a visit: Asia Spa, 5 minutes walking from the city center, the Ice Arena, Präbichl for downhill skiing, Abenteuer Erzberg to visit the mine, Redbull Ring for MotoGP and F1 fans, Voest Alpine Leoben/Donawitz has free tour for tourists. Leoben also has a small disco right in the main square and in that area there are also good places to have a meat(Arkandenhof is my suggetsed one)

    It is not such a picturesque town but it has an old castle...

    It is not such a picturesque town but it has an old castle on the hill with fine views. The other thing I really appreciated was an outdoor 50 metre public pool with an equally large separate fun pool wih water slide. After a long journey that was perfect!

    The location is very nice if you do not like the busy places. Very hard to find people that are speaking English. You can do a lot of activities: swimming, hiking, climbing, cross country ski. I do not fully understand the trail rules for the cross-country sky. Some tourists had access to the trails other no, the lady from JUFA hotel front desk could not explain because she does not speak English/ we do not speak German. But for a location as much advertised for cross country ski the hotel could provide the rules in couple of foreign languages. We felt a bit discriminated.

    Perfect place for a short winter vacation.

    Perfect place for a short winter vacation. Vienna airport is 100 km away. Car rental is fairly inexpensive if you book in advance. Several ski rental shops are in the surroundings. If possible avoid weekends. Many people com for a ski weekend.

    Leoben is a small and nice city in Steiermark.

    Leoben is a small and nice city in Steiermark. Its main square is really gorgeous as the tower and the bridge on the river. Nice coffee spots and restaurants. The city is also famous to be the city of the most famous Austrian beer, Gösser. Not far from the city center you can find the company which includes a museum ("Gösseum") and a cozy Gästhaus where you can eat good dishes and drink different kind of the national beer. Leoben is a city you can visit in one day.
