The room was very clean, and everything was working properly. The location was very close to Vila dos Remedios, the "downtown" of the island. The breakfast was delicious and full of great choices of fruits, bread, juices, coffee, etc. And the best part is that Lili, the lady who cared for the breakfast, made some really amazing tapiocas and omelets! Kudos to Lili!

Petrolina is a safe, clean and calm small city by the Rio San Francisco in the far interior of the state of Pernambuco. It has bars, restaurants, a very nice municipal park and several interesting visits for tourists who want to know about the Brazilian culture of the sertão or desertic northeastern region. The Bodódromo is a group of restaurants dedicated to the "bode" or goat meat, the signature food of the region. Oficina do Mestre Quincá is a wood artisanry shop with lots of interesting pieces. There are also several Wineries that offer guided visits for groups and some include boat trips through Rio São Francisco (weekends only) which is the source of life and economic development for the region. There are travel agencies that offer packages. Finally, Petrolina is a good start point to visit and hike through the Serra da Capivara park, a gorgeous site with ten thousand old petroglyphs and pregistoric views.
