Our absolute favorite in Belize. A paradise on the banks of the Rio Grande with its turquoise waters, an oasis of beauty and tranquility. The hosts are incredibly friendly and the food is excellent - try Stacey’s pizza!

Amazing place, recovering from a fire a few years ago. The owner also farms water buffalo and their meat is for sale in the onsite café where breakfast is held. It is a large site, with different buildings (some recovering from the fire) and river access.

I arrived 2h before the expected welcome hours, and I was received on the go without comments and my room was already available. Samewise, we were not put on the street at 11h in the morning, once our room free to be cleaned we could hang out few more hours before carry on with our days. Ricky seems available and listen to the quarries.

Great location if you are exploring Lamanai Maya site, regardless if you are going on the boat or with the car, nice view of the lagoon, friendly staff, great medium priced restaurant (I wouldn't eat anywhere else in Orange, looked very run down), spacious room with balcony and AC.
Improvements needed ... dirty balcony and bathroom with animal poop, i don't know what they do daily except made the bed as nothing was cleaned ... no signs anywhere where to park where to check in (smart thing is to come during the daylight), very soft old matresses, no drinks menu at the bar so you hope they charge you correctly. Few small improvements can make this place 9, and maybe some rooms were 9 but ours was 7. Would stay again for 1 night.

We only walked around town for a bit in the one morning that we were there. I doubt whether there's much in Orange Walk to stay for but there are things you can do outside town that would probably be worth it.

Orange Walk is a walkable town along a river with a few markets, shops, restaurants, and hotels. Day and Night Hotel seemed to be one of the better ones. Buses run frequently on the main road and taxis are available. It was a 2.5 hour ride from Belize City.
If you're planning a longer trip, look beyond Orange Walk and set off to explore the whole country!
