Fantastic place to stay! We spend 4 nights here and I can’t recommend it enough: - quiet, chill, relaxing vibe, you have a corner of paradise nearly to yourself - clean, the team takes care of the place and makes it very comfortable (not easy when sand easily gets everywhere) - delicious food for very reasonable prices and plenty of options (we also saw other, much higher prices in the area and thought Carey Beach priced food and drinks in such a way that it doesn’t break the bank) - very polite and attentive staff, the team is as present as you want them to be, very helpful, always with a smile - nice beach, water was great to take a swim, we could watch pelicans hunt for fish - the activities offered were great: we went on a snorkel trip and had massages at the beach. All in all: fantastic! Relaxing! Would highly recommend!

Our stay at Hotel Calamari Baru was so relaxing! We had one of the ocean view rooms, and it was perfect to relax. We loved hearing the sound of the waves as we slept. Christian helped us with our bags when we arrived later in the evening. The food and service at the restaurant were great and made our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was also included in the stay. The reception staff helped us book our boat trip back to Cartagena which was helpful! We would definitely recommend this hotel. It was one of the better looking accomodations on the strip.

The hotel is nice, Caribbean style rooms, nice little pool,a small pier where you can sunbathe and a little piece of beach. The hotel is incredible peaceful as it only accommodate a small number of guests and therefore the attention of the staff is unbelievable. Lucrecia and Sergio especially are amazing and they will help with any requests you have with a kindness that you'll never see anywhere else. The hotel also offers transportation service with a private boat so you can reach nearby tourist attraction( just ask and they will take you anywhere). Very satisfied and will probably visit again.

Everything!!! Our stay at the hotel was worth every minute, from the boat ride from the dock to our return. The rooms are super spacious and comfortable, the staff is super friendly, the food is very typical and delicious. If you are looking for a place to really disconnect, relax in front of the beach and enjoy the advantages of being on an island, Islas del Encanto is the place. This is such a wonderful hotel with amazing welcoming and helpful staff and wonderful food. It is such a stunning part of the world and Sabai absolutely showcases the splendors of the beach and jungle. Everything we needed we got, including a trip to the National Aviary which was magnificent. Everyone at Sabai was fantastic, helpful, bright and warm, and the property was just beautiful. The food was especially excellent.

Excellent stay, in a beautiful location where you can relax and enjoy the peace, quiet and private area and beach. With no people around. Very seclusive and really what we needed. To disconnect from work and busy schedule and enjoy the place. Liz is an excellent cook and Manuel an excellent host who took care of all of us and had so much patience with all the demands from the kids. It was a wonderful stay

We came as a family with 2 small children and we all loved it. The hotel is beautiful with a lovely new pool which the children loved and great views. Our room was clean and very spacious. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was great. We were going to go to an all inclusive and decided to go to Aura instead. I'm soooooo glad we did this.

You can’t beat the price & the beach is beautiful.

You can’t beat the price & the beach is beautiful. The people were great & friendly. However I would bring mosquito spray & ear plugs bc if you get the room next to a generator it will drive you crazy. The best room is with the balcony so you could enjoy the sound of the waves & beautiful view, it’s definitely worth the extra money. Food & drinks were good. Take the taxi & boat suggested.

White sand beaches and gorgeous water!

White sand beaches and gorgeous water! Able to walk around at night. Sometimes the music at the bars got very noisy - espeically since it went on past 10. So relaxing! Take a trip to the Rosario Islands - snorkel, see the tiny aquarium. Bring a book and hang out in the sun!

Baru is not a lonely remote place where you will enjoy peace...

Baru is not a lonely remote place where you will enjoy peace and quiet. Hotels and lodges are literally next to each other. There are many people. When swimming, be careful of boats and jet skis that drive here and there very close to the shore. But the sun and the sea make all that unimportant. There are also various excursion options.

The staff, location and room were excellent.

The staff, location and room were excellent. Staff went out of the way to help and guide. We booked a car through the hotel for pickup and drop off to Cartagena and the car service (Carlos the driver was awesome and very helpful and punctual). We had a medical emergency and the staff were super helpful to guide and help arrange transportation to the nearest city. Highly recommend. Water pressure at the hotel at times can be an issue (beyond the control of the property), which is to be expected. The staff informed us of low water pressure times and were very helpful in providing a bucket to store water for shower if needed during low pressure times.

Wow this location is AMAZING.

Wow this location is AMAZING. Truly it was a private beach all to ourselves… only one other couple there on our first night. The property only has 4 rooms total so you’re never going to have a bunch of people there. The staff were SO accommodating and patient with our lack of ability to speak Spanish. We only speak English, staff only spoke English but they always used translation making it very easy to communicate! I saw other reviews complaining about the food being overpriced and no hot water for the shower which seems silly to me after now experiencing how remote this place is! It was my toddlers first travel experience, and I was SO happy with the comfort Carey House offered. Is it a luxury hotel, no. But does it have everything you need on a remote beach location with PERFECT Carribean swimming and the best staff ever? Yes. We will be coming back!

great little hotels and restaurants in the area but too many hawkers selling you stuff. Be careful with your personal items. Bring your own towels. Sunset beach restaurant had nice cabana types to relax and consume.
