We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation in Nuquí. The location is absolutely beautiful, right by the beach with direct private access, which made it feel very special and relaxing. What truly stood out was the incredibly kind and helpful staff. They went above and beyond to help us plan our trip and made everything so easy for us. For example, they even arranged for us to spend one night at another hotel owned by the same host in Termales, which made our overall experience even more memorable. Even when the owner wasn’t there, another lovely woman was in charge and took great care of everything, always making sure we felt comfortable and welcome. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Nuquí!

The town itself is small enough to check out in two days and nights but there are thongs to do in the surrounding areas. Walking from my hotel through the jungle, especially at night, was a fantastic experience. The scuba diving (mid-December) was very poor. Low visibility. Dive and Green though are a great bunch and were lovely to meet. In the town there is loud music all the time.

Nuquí is an absolute paradise and one of the most special...

Nuquí is an absolute paradise and one of the most special places in Colombia. The combination of lush jungle, wild beaches, warm ocean, and rich Afro-Pacific culture makes it truly unforgettable. It’s the perfect destination if you’re looking to disconnect, slow down, and reconnect with nature. I highly recommend staying in Guachalito or in one of the nearby beaches rather than in town. Places like Guachalito offer a more peaceful, immersive experience, with easy access to hot springs, waterfalls, jungle trails, and pristine beaches. There are also plenty of activities nearby, from whale watching (in season) and surfing to hiking and boat trips to hidden spots along the coast. On top of all that, Nuquí feels extremely safe. The local communities are welcoming, respectful, and used to receiving visitors, which makes you feel comfortable and at ease throughout your stay. Nuquí is raw, beautiful, authentic, and a destination you truly shouldn’t miss.

The nature is gorgeous but unfortunately the human hand hasn't been the best there. There are not many restaurants you can choose from and at all of them you will always have the choice of the dishes of the day. Surprisingly the fish is never very delicioisly cooked even though is very fresh, the truth catch of the day. It's a very expensive destination since there is almost nothing you can do independenty besides going to the beach and surf. Even though the beach is very beautiful it's also not the best beach expererience for me since the sea is way too hot (over 30 degrees celsius) For whale watching, visit other beaches, and etc you often need to buy an organized tour or ask for a ride from a taxi (tuk tuk or moto). The tours are good but the whale watching is not the best. It's better to do it in bahia solano

The town of Mutis in Bahia Solano isn't much, but the area...

The town of Mutis in Bahia Solano isn't much, but the area is impressively beautiful. It's pretty remote feeling here. There seem to be some beach hotels designed for the party crowd: Plays Dubai or Playa Huina come to mind. But that's not really the vibe of this area. It seems more for people coming to dive, hike, snorkel, or whale-watch. Bahia Solano is a bit difficult to reach, and quite difficult to get out of. You should have at least a day's cushion on the end of your trip before any other obligations or connecting flights. We were lucky to make it out, as it was raining heavily and the outbound flight almost couldn't land. Even when it did, it was only able to take about 2/3 of the ticketed passengers due to weight restrictions on the wet, short runway. Plan accordingly and be prepared for a bit of chaos. It's the price of admission.

Panguí is a place where culture and nature blend beautifully. The area offers a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by lush forests, rivers, and impressive landscapes that make it perfect for travelers seeking authentic natural experiences. Local traditions are still very present, and the community’s warm hospitality adds a special charm to the visit. Whether you enjoy outdoor activities, exploring local customs, or simply relaxing in a quiet environment, Panguí provides a unique and memorable stay.

This is a bustling small town.

This is a bustling small town. The street food was great and I went to one restaurant where the food was so good. The museum was closed for renovations. Unfortunately there is not much to do. I read other reviews about taking a boat ride on the river, but I passed on that.

A magical corner of the Pacific Nuquí is pure paradise.

A magical corner of the Pacific Nuquí is pure paradise. Untouched nature, warm ocean water, and a deep connection to what really matters. Every sunset was breathtaking, and the peace of the place is something truly special. Between jungle hikes, river swims, and the constant sound of the waves, it was a soul-refreshing experience. I’d go back a thousand times!

Nuquí is fantastic, it's a jewel lost in time.

Nuquí is fantastic, it's a jewel lost in time. The town itself not so much, as it's very small, very lacking as it's so remote and largely forgotten by the federal government. This is not the fault of Nuquí, and is not a reason to not go there, I would definitely go back again. My first visit there was over 20 years ago. I just went again for 3 days, and I would definitely go back again. This is because being largely forgotten by the government (and the world) is both a curse and a blessing. The blessing is that it's still largely virgin and pristine. The jungle forests, the mountains and the ocean are spectacular, the fish and seafood are excellent, and the land gives all that you need – fresh water, coconuts, plantain, fruit etc. But being so remote, means that sometimes it's hard to find the basics, or the electricity will only run for part of the day. But the location is so amazing, you find that you can adapt to the local ways, because that is all there is, and that is ok. In fact, it's nice to change your rhythms and "disconnect" from the world. If there is a raw origin of Macondo that still exists in the world, it is in the Chocó del Pacífico region that surrounds the small town of Nuquí. It is unforgettable.
