- From £138.19 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,054 reviewsTerrific value for location and amenities the hotel offers. Good amount of free parking, some covered but also cheap public parking opposite. The hotel is very clean and there's a formal restaurant as well as a more casual bar with cheaper options. My room was overlooking the vineyards and was lovely. Fridge/mini bar, BBC news channel, good sized bathroom with good pressure hot shower. Large wardrobe and safe. Breakfast was excellent, very pleasant staff. A good hot and cold selection. The pool is small but adequate for children or cooling off. The sauna area is lovely with bio and Finnish Sauna. There's large supermarket about 10 minutes drive and small one just a few buildings away. Lots of places to eat nearby.Guest review byjohnUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 1,224 reviewsEverything was above and beyond our expectations. We felt so pampered and spoiled by the staff during our stay. The hotel was quaint and paid exceptional care to details. Our rooms had robes, slippers, extra towels, relaxing spray for our pillows, and little extras that may not have made our bags for the trip. The property is very clean. Breakfast was amazing and had much to offer a variety of tastes. Dinner was fabulous (a reservation is required for dinner, but easily done). The staff that greeted and cared for us every morning was so personable, friendly, and attentive. The view of Trier at breakfast was peaceful and relaxing. We highly recommend this hotel! If we ever return, we will definitely be staying there.Guest review byShannonUnited States

Lovely city, lots of sights to see.
Lovely city, lots of sights to see. After 3 visits we still haven't seen everything. Lots of places to have a drink in the afternoon and early evening, but bar and terraces do seem to close early. So if it's a warm summer evening and you want to have an evening drink that may be a bit of a problem.Guest review byJackNetherlands - 8.0

A nice little town with a lovely castle but other than visiting the castle not much to do unless you are a hiker so would only recommend a short stay. Very little variance in for, too many pizza joints.Guest review byDouglasCanada - 10.0

WE have been before and it is still a great place to stay, on the river with boat trips, good roads to Trier etc, many wine tasting locations are within walking distance, it gets busy in the day but evenings when the coaches have gone it is really lovely!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

There are lot of wineries, vineyards and hiking routes near the hotel. The drive to other villages (for example, Cochem, Bernkastel kues, etc.) on the banks of Mosel is very pleasant. The boat ride on the Mosel is very enjoyable. If you like wine, this wine region is a good place to visit.Guest review byAbhijit DebNetherlands - 10.0

Very good for walking - great trails, well-waymarked. Quite a good choice of restaurants for a small town. But there is no supermarket - only a post office with a few items of food, but no fruit or yogurt.Guest review byTim SpantonUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking.
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking. The hiking trail to Burg Eltz was very nice, I did the black route. The last part is the heaviest part. I went to the viewing point of the castle and then went back. I did that because there is an entrance fee that you have to pay for the castle, even if you just want to order food and drinks. In the afternoon I went to Mörsdorf to visit the Geierlay hanging bridge, which was awesome. Note that the bus (line 746) does not go there every hour and that the line is not currently on Google Maps. So search online for the schedule or visit the tourist office in the train station. During my stay the buses ran from the water-side of the station instead of the official bus stop, so double check if that is the case for you. Both these things could have been their own day, since there are more hiking trails available in both places.Guest review byAri FijanNetherlands - 10.0
The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns
The area was beautiful for walking around the little towns We caught local bus to Cochem for the day -- which was very easy we travelled in October so a few places had closed but still enough places to eat and have a glass of wineGuest review byRhondaAustralia - 8.0
Family vacation house on the Mosel
Family vacation house on the Mosel 3 generations of one family (and a dog) – spent here 2 nights in May, 2024. This house is a very good place for family vacation: 3 bedrooms, a kitchen with a dinner table, a living room and 2 good bathrooms. Pet-friendly – this is fortunately typical for Germany. Distances: ~ 100m from Mosel. ~ 1.3 km to Edeka supermarket, ~ 7 km to Cochem center. There are also 2 minor “cons”: no dishwash machine and no Mosel view. Friendly host. Recommended for family vacation.Guest review bySergey VorobyevNetherlands - 8.0
Great location on the Moselle River.
Great location on the Moselle River. Good for hiking and biking along the river or through the vineyards. But it lacks the picturesque looks of some of the more famous Moselle towns. Although it is much much quieter if you want to avoid the crowds. Close enough to historic Trier which is easily rachable bicycle or car. Albeit there’s no bicycle hire placee in town at the time of writing. The closest cycling shop is in Schweich.Guest review byMenno KnipperAustralia - 8.0
The best is its great location, especially in those rooms...
The best is its great location, especially in those rooms that have a total view of the Porta Nigra. It is close to the most enchanting places of Trier. The worst: a) the night staff is terrific, b) there is no designated space to leave your luggage for a few hours; they left it just behind the front desk. c) The bedclothes are not the standard in Mexico and the USA. It only includes a coat that does not completely protect you; it is too heavy in hot weather, and I suppose that having conditioned air in wintertime could be enough. But I didn´t like it.Guest review byFRANCISCO JAVIERMexico
