Location was phenomenal, room was very nice but as our room was right near where the staff took VERY frequent breaks, including smoke breaks, we got both their conversations and their secondhand smoke.
Breakfast was excellent and those people working the breakfast area, especially the lady working on our last day, were fine - good choices, nice variety and excellent coffee although the machine dispensing coffee was a teensy bit tricky as the cups provided were not designed to go with it (the lady working the first day advised)and their positioning needed adjusting before the cup would fill.

Lovely pleasant city with ambience and lots of history.
Lovely pleasant city with ambience and lots of history. Amazing city space where one can enjoy taking a walk or relaxing in a park. I don't know how some people spend only 1 day or half a day in Trier. There're so many museums in Trier and around the city that a minimum of 3 days is needed to see most of the places of interest. I spent 8 days in Trier and would gladly return. If I had more time in Trier, I would explore more of Luxembourg. I am glad I found accommodation in a quiet neighbourhood, away from the center.

Trier and the area in general is definitely worth a visit.
Trier and the area in general is definitely worth a visit. The old part of town is a gem, and so are the historical buildings, churches, roman amphitheater etc. Don't forget to enjoy the local (white) wines and the cuisine.

Very pretty old town with lots of history!
Very pretty old town with lots of history!
We had a great meal in Donna Mia, an Italian in the square. I had the rigatoni mango chicken & it's the best pasta meal I think I have ever tasted! My husband enjoyed an Americana pizza. The beer was great too!
The one disappointed we had was the approach from the tourist information center near the porta nigra. We went in to ask advice for how to best spend the afternoon we had in trier & the lady just said take a map. No offer of advice or friendly manner. We have travelled to many places over Europe this holiday & the tourist information centres have all been absolutely brilliant & so willing to share their knowledge of their areas so it was disappointing to experience this on our very last stop before going back to the UK. We walked to the Roman Baths, which took a chunk of our limited time in Trier to find they closed at 4.30. The tourist info office could have alerted us to this fact for eg.

Trier is a fabulous historical venue but requires more than one day to visit properly. Most of the sites are within easy walking distance. There are fine restaurants with an expansive choice of cuisine. Interestingly, it is possible to experience the history of this city. Its vestiges span over 2000 years. Ranging from the first Christian settlements through and including the Middle Ages, the destructive influence of Napoleon, and WW2, to the present. One is steeped in its rich history.

Beautiful city, very suitable for families with children.
Beautiful city, very suitable for families with children. The city has amazing historical places to visit for those who are interested in doing so. It also has a lively shopping culture for those who prefer to go on shopping trips.
The hotel was a great facility, loved the area with the games and the breakfast room was nice. The staff was super friendly and spoke English. We also really liked the spacious rooms and generous size of the beds. There is also a lovely green walk from Trier Sud station that we enjoyed. We would not hesitate to stay again!
Friendly staff and quiet area with no disturbances. Good basic hotel with excellent Wifi and television, not far from Trier on the bus, but no cafe in the area where it would be possible to have a cafe and croissant in the mornings
