BahamasThe Spaahotel was built since our last visit to Tõrva in 2018 and a tremendous bonus for us, 5 of us travelling in a people carrier, including 2 teenagers, who enjoyed the use of the pool and the jacuzzis, while the older ones the saunas. Our grandchildren loved its closeness to the lake where they thrilled us jumping off the third and fourth boards. A great playground area and lovely walks in the woods. Breakfasts are plentiful and ably served by very pleasant and helpful reception. This hotel is within walking distance to where our relatives live, and a few minutes' drive to town centre. We loved our 3 night stay at Veemõnula Spaahotell in Tõrva!

Everything was great.
The house is great. The kitchen is well equipped, the rooms are nice. The main room is spacious and cozy.
The sauna was nice (you cannot use brooms inside tho).
The jacuzzi outside was exceptional.
I was worried there is no fence (so I thought from the pictures) but there actually is and our dog really loved it outside.
It is also very warm inside.
The location is great - 10 mins from the slopes, 5 mins from the shop, some bars and restaurants nearby

We went there second year in a row. Same as last year the house was very clean and cozy. It was perfect for 9 adults to stay for the weekend. We used hot tub, sauna and the ice hole in pond for evening relaxation. Fireplace and sauna make the house very warm for the whole night.
House has well equiped kitchen for cooking all meals, towels are available for sauna and shower.

Authenticity and the feeling of being back in time. The bed was very comfortable, perfect for sleeping. The service staff is very friendly, the kitchen is open until 8:00 PM, but we still got dinner around 10:00 PM. Even though the lights went out for a few minutes, there were candles burning everywhere, which gave a great atmosphere and authenticity. Everything was perfect.

Posibility to use kitchen..nice, warm fire place at lounge.
It wasnt much time to enjoy the place but kids enjoyed biliard table.

Very comfortable and neat appartment, efficient heating...
Very comfortable and neat appartment, efficient heating which matters in the winter when we have stayed there. Cosy surroundings, fantastic location just few minutes from the lake where you can start your cross-counrty skiing at at a well maintained classical trail from this lake (Otepaa) to Kaariku for the first day. Also great classical trails along the famous Tartu Marathon. And a very kind host, Mati. Our stay was just fantastic.
P.S. In Otepaa very well supplied Konsum Coop to do basic shopping.

I would recommend Valga as a place where it is possible to...
I would recommend Valga as a place where it is possible to experience mix of Latvia and Estonia. You will see people freely crossing border, Latvian children playing in Estonian skatepark. Try to find shop signs that are written in both languages - it is a rewarding sidequest. Unique cultural place. Visit Valga museum to learn about the rich history of region and get inspired to visit other towns in region. Good place if you want to browse through local thrift shops. Local library and Culture center offer regular events and classes. Nice library for free books in the Valka/Valga railway station. It was easy to travel with a bicycle in the train. Also you have a good chance to experience ride in a Lithuanian train with Latvian crew from Estonia to Vilnius through Riga- a sweet mix of the Baltics.

The Castle hotel is the only real interest in the area but...
The Castle hotel is the only real interest in the area but the hotel has an expensive and poor quality restaurant. There are no other options close by. It seems that the hotel relies on day trippers for additional revenue by having a themed flower show. Although the gardens are lovely the day trippers ruin what could be a pampered hoilday.

We love Otepää & Pühajärve.
We love Otepää & Pühajärve. Fantastic central location in South Estonia. Plenty of hotels, apartments & guesthouses to rent. Perfect for taking day trips to surrounding areas & sites. Town itself is very pretty & has great grocery stores. People & service is exceptional. My husband had a headache, but in Estonia pharmaceuticals are only sold in pharmacies - no headache tablets in grocery stores or petrol stations etc. It was late in the evening and all pharmacies were closed. We went to the local petrol station in hopes to find some pain killers only to find out they are only sold in pharmacies, so the lady at the counter gave us some of her own headache tablets ♥️♥️♥️
I love wild swimming & Pühajärve lake has a great sandy beach + beautiful park for those who love walking. Plus there is a boat rental etc available.
All in all a great place to enjoy nature 🪷🌿🤍

Vert nice and romantic hotel with exceptional reataurant and SPA facilities. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. It had an nice garden around the hotel you could just walk around or read a books.

There isn't much to do in Taagepera.
There isn't much to do in Taagepera. You can hike, you can have a walk, enjoy the nature or drive around the southern part of Estonia to discover more sightseeings. In Taagepera there is a very nice castle with spa and restaurant, which is a must visit place if you are in Taagepera.
