The hotel is full of character, clean and the bed was super comfy. The room was not large but it had everything we needed and more, including dressing gowns, bottled water and a radio, which was playing when we arrived. Staff were friendly and attentive. The evening meal and breakfast were both delicious.

What's not to like! We arrived 3 hours early and from the moment we messaged Laura and Bohotel to request an early check-in to the hours after we checked out we were treated as lifelong, dear friends. No exaggeration, no paid review. The Bohotel's accommodations exceeded every expectation we had - the rooms were spacious and clean, wifi was accessible, reliable and fast, the food was top tier, life stuff/questions which came up over the course of our stay were addressed and resolved immediately - but it was the people that made it perfect. Laura, Sharon, Isaac - absolutely everyone associated with Bohotel, Suburban Green (the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel) - treated us like friends who also happen to be hospitality professionals passionate about their vocation as hospitality professionals. I don't often write these reviews but this is an exception I'm delighted to make. The review writes itself. I can't recommend Bohotel more enthusiastically.

The location is so lovely! You are taken back and feels like you are in a different world! The food was amazing. They clearly take pride in their food here! The rooms were super clean! I used to clean 5 Star rooms in college--so I have an eye for this! Rooms were also super cozy with the cutest view of the river! Also, they are the perfect size--and on the bigger side for space. The staff seemed family oriented --super nice and went above and beyond for us! I have never experienced such hospitality.

Very dirty and bad smell, bins full if rubbish and no cutlery and sharp knifes we've rented from 31 to 2january 2026 but we've left next day in the mor I g as we could stay there, the fifty and dirt I've been found there was unbelievable, I've send pictures and videos to booking via email as it's unacceptable the state they treating guests, nobody should pay and stau in such conditions, I hope they will renovate the house and change cleaner services as its embarrassing for us to call on 31 December qnd complain about the cleaning and send the cleaner at 3pm to sort nothing, just took 3bqgs off rubis from the bins and that was all. Never use again there services

A beautiful little town with lots of heritage and history. Many little bake shops and boutiques. We enjoyed walking around the town even in the cold. Castleton is lovely at anytime of year to visit but especially magical at Christmas when they turn the lights on in mid November and the village is so picturesque well worth a visit so much to see and can easily reach so many other places from there too even if you don't drive has a regular bus service which serves other villages too.You would never be short of getting a place to stay either as there are plenty of pubs for bed and breakfast even cosy cottages to rent too.

To be fair it isn't in Stockport.

To be fair it isn't in Stockport. It in a beautiful rural location with fabulous views of green countryside with a charming vista of Manchester in the distance. Yes it was! In my view ! Lol. For us it was a little out of the way mainly because I'm increasingly stressed by driving but in normal circumstances it's nice and quiet. We ate in Glossop at Napolis which was fab last time we went but this time it wasn't great! Had a great ready meal from sainsbury in New Mills! Lots of good walks and paths. Binge Watched Riot women on the big screen! We don't have a TV.

Lovely spot is Holmfirth. Great selection of arts & crafts, good food, great pubs, and one of the best music venues there is! The Picturedrome. Also worth a visit is the "Last of The Summer Wine Exhibition" and "Compo's house tour". Top eateries include Ten Fourteen, The Tap House Bar & Bistro, Lou & Joes Burger Company, Harvey's Bar & Kitchen, to name a few not forgetting some fantastic coffee shops too like the Cheese Shop Deli & Bistro, Ribbles, the Archive and Grahams all serving grew brews, hot food and CAKES!
