I found this place in Tihany and I’m really glad I chose it. Everything’s super new and really high quality. The bathroom looks great, and the whole vibe is clean and cozy. I had a side view of a lovely flower garden from the room, which made it even nicer. Also, it’s just a short walk to the center. Would totally stay again!

Just simply excellent the hotel well deserves the 5 stars rating, everything is clean, nicely organized, room is quiet, I was especially enlightened with the heated pools the water has nice warm temperature during the whole day, breakfast is great, staff is friendly. I enjoyed the free champagne testing the afternoon :)

It is near the highway, close to Red Cat Kart Balaton and 1,5 km far from Balaton lake. It was comfortable, clean, the room didn’t have much space for 3 persons but we stayed only a day so it wasn’t a problem. Great breakfast!

    Staying at Villa Kabala is a unique experience that I can recommend to all who like the north shore of Lake Balaton and enjoy fine dining. The location of the property high on the hillside ensures it is quiet with an amazing view overlooking the lake. The kitchen is listed in the Michelin guide and lived up to its reputation - we had amazing meals every time we sat down in their dining room. Thank you Petra, Peter, and all the staff for making our anniversary stay so memorable.

    This place is amazing, extremely well maintained and gorgeous garden, very comfortable and well equipped accommodations. The pool is gorgeous, nice, clean water and very pleasant. The event rooms and the restaurant is nice and there is a fire pit in the garden as well. Everything is nice and spacious and the garden with the ancient trees is simply breath-taking.

    It was a last minute booking - the Hotel itself is rather dated or as we like to say in Hungary "Retro", but what it lacked in luxury it more than made up for in both location, but more especially its staff - they were both polite, multi lingual and extremely helpful!

    As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths.

    As cyclists, we really liked the well-marked bike paths. There is a beautiful promenade on the shore with stalls selling local products. You can rent a colorful boat to ride on the lake, or take a train for a half-hour ride around the city. There is always something going on on the promenade too. Highly recommended!

    Beautiful excursion place - Hungarian Provence.

    Beautiful excursion place - Hungarian Provence. I recommend visiting outside the main tourist season. The prices are higher, but the place offers an excellent starting point for walking, cycling or car tourism around Lake Balaton.

    Nice, small city with (paid) beach at Balaton lake. Full of tourist in the centre(parkings also paid) but if you go uphill - towards hills - you can find not only delicious wine but relaxing atmosphere.

    Great place to be in the summer but also off-season. Clean and cozy atmosphere with just enough things to do. The beach is exceptionally clean and the water is good for swimming. Better than on the south side of the lake.

    Veszprem is a small city, with some very impressive architecture, and interesting history. Also a nice place to just explore . The area along the riverside which passes the bottom entrance to the zoo then reaches a really nice park is a favoured walk for us . The centre has a good selection of restaurants catering to a variety of tastes and budgets . One thing to be aware of is that lunch is the Hungarian main meal of the day , therefore we have a couple of times tried to get a meal a bit later on the evening , depending on the time of year or day of the week that has sometimes been hard to find . Getting around , we can walk anywhere it’s a compact city . We generally get a lift from family to and from Station, after that we walk , if your fairly fit and can walk for about an hour I think you won’t need public transport but it is available if required . We are 3 adults so can’t say what children would like other the zoo and ice cream shops which are very good .

    This resort was easy to get to.

    This resort was easy to get to. The Strand had everything that you need, easy access to the water, good locker facilities, entertainment and play areas for children, and some unassuming yet delicious restaurants. It is easy to travel to Tihany, Balatonfured and the whole of the North shore. There are also several good supermarkets in and around Alsóörs.

    The staff were for me the stand out in the overall experience. This hotel is great for families who want to be close to the beach. The rate we had was inclusive of evening meal and breakfast. Food was perfectly adequate and atypical of this type of hotel - but tasty and lots of it!

    Révfülöp is a real gem if you want to stay a few days at...

    Révfülöp is a real gem if you want to stay a few days at lake Balaton. Nice beach, a few really good restaurants and sweetshops. If you leave behind the crowd in the center, you find cute weekend houses with beautiful gardens, vineyards and fields on the hill. There is a port and you can choose among various sightseeing boats. If you like sports, you can rent a bike and visit the neighboring cities. It is an easy ride as the bikeway is smooth and flat.

    A good location for visiting Lake Balaton. Try to avoid August - especially late August. Property is generally fully booked/overbooked due to vacation season and crowds/noise are omnipresent - unless you like that sort of thing.

    The town is small and quiet-ish.

    The town is small and quiet-ish. There are some nice hikes worth taking, especially at sunset. (check the Guard Tower Area and the ) Not sure if it's all year round, but in September many of the restaurants and terraces were closing at 18:00 local time. You can take the long route north to get to Tihany, but the ferry is faster and not that expensive (in 2023 about 10 EUR for 1 car + 1 person).
