It was my first time in India, and choosing the Taj was the best decision I could’ve made. The team made me feel cared for from the first moment—I even asked when to return to see the mountains green, as in May they matched the golden Ganga! As a solo traveler, I was touched by the thoughtful precautions—calls screened by reception, safety tips about monkeys, and a direct contact from security (thank you, Himanshee!). My villa was perfectly placed between yoga and reception, with a stunning Ganges view. Pawan and his team kept it pristine, adding lovely local spa treats and always stocking my favorite tea. Morning tea on the balcony became a cherished ritual. Hi-tea with Helmata-ji was a daily delight—black tea with ginger and cardamom, always divine. I also loved discovering the espresso machine, sipping a cappuccino by Bhagwat while gazing at the Himalayas—pure magic. Staying longer, the Rock Flour team quickly tuned in to my tastes. Special thanks to Dipak Kumar Singh for crafting fresh, healthy off-menu dishes that truly pampered my palate. Everyone’s kindness and smiles made me feel right at home. I came for “me-time,” and the daily yoga, meditation, and sound healing—plus private sessions—were everything I hoped for. Shivani, your guidance turned my stay into a true retreat. You are both a gifted teacher and now, a friend. For adventure, Jitendra’s team offered great experiences. Trekking with Ajay, a passionate mountaineer, was a highlight—sharing local lore, spotting wildlife, and guiding me to a village temple, even across the river by inflatable boat! All in all the stay at Taj Rishikesh was exceptional!

The hotel is away from all the chaos and offer amazing views of the mountain, forest and nature wonders. Absolutely loved the friendliness of the owner Suhail who is extremely kind to us. He drove us to certain local places and guiding us and providing useful advice for us around Dehradun. Even his staff have the same manners and professionalism and kindness. We booked three deluxe rooms and all of us including my friends were extremely satisfied and will be coming back again soon. The restaurant of the hotel offers delicious food. So happy we found this place… just AMAZING!!!

The hotel location is excellent offering best of both the worlds. its surrounded by lush greenery and dense tree cover and yet it is close to the bustling and happening hill station of Mussoorie. The breakfast was a lavish spread of various cuisines - continental, north Indian and south Indian. The presentation and layout was immaculate and the preparation was lip smacking. Above all the staff was ever ready to help and always had smiling faces. All in all a memorable experience - would definitely come again.

Great Hotel just a few minutes from Mall Road. Very professional staff and able to help you out anytime. Breakfast spread was amazing. Room spacious having amazing views to the valley. Hotel is huge with lots of room options. Special note: Last day of our stay our daughter was not well and the hotel staff went the extra mile to ensure that we helped. They sent one of their guys with us in the car to ensure that we were helped out on the route and at the hospital. Much appreciated.

Besides its historic character and beautiful architecture, the service we received at Savoy was truly exceptional. We were celebrating a birthday and New Year's Eve, and the staff ensured our stay was truly memorable. Akshita at the front desk gave us a room with a stunning view and even arranged a birthday surprise. The dinner buffet at Savoy was excellent and the Writer's Bar was an absolute delight. And the security guy asked her to use the banquet hall! I mean the care and calmness these folks have - who does it! So I would recommend this anytime! And yea, they gave us late (VERY LATE) checkout by 4 hours at 800 rs.. which is really cool!

it is a perfect choice for me with a travel of only 220 km from my place. And it suits me for 2 -3 days break from work. It's like a cascade of multiple green mountain series visible from one place. That's the reason Mussoorie is known to be Hills Queen. I love Mussoorie

Hosting isn't a forte in entire uttarakhand. It's beautiful, but too many people are closed minded and unpassionate about what they do, yet charges are high across the board. So, adjust expectations beforehand.

It is super easy to reach from Delhi.

It is super easy to reach from Delhi. Get a train Bus or self ve hile to reach in around 5 HR. Street food like kachouri and sweets are great to enjoy.Most of the shops sell veg option. People are nice. Great for spiritual travel.Enjoy walk near ghats and Ganga Arti. Some ghats are overcrowded. Hotels near ghats are not clean fools you with more price and no facility. Street foods are good.Rishikesh is nearby don’t get in taxi trap they charge u around 1000 to 2000 . Uber 900. Rather take a bus for 80 rs or a shared Tempo for 60 rs

Cool nice place for a quiet clean air quality and noise free stay within a green jungle area. Kulchas, Tasty Tea, Maggie, biryani, local food, FRUITS, at decent prices all over. Charm of Safari and Tiger is in air. Not too hilly to reach, like mussorie, nainital or shimla. Plain fast access but feel of a real hill station through out for kilometres.

It is a small city at the foot of Nainital and Bhimtal. I had a short layover at the hotel on my way to Binsar which is at a long distance from Delhi. Haldwani is a good city with good shopping options for all popular brands which I noticed during my stay. You have many good restaurants also. It is a good option to stay for a night at Haldwani if you want to go to Almora/Binsar from Delhi-NCR.

Mukteshwar is a quiet, serene, almost lazy little hill town in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. It is one of the closest hill getaways from Delhi NCR, offering a breathtaking 180-degree view of the majestic Nanda Devi snow-clad range. The mountains here don’t just appear in front of you—they stay with you, quietly dominating the skyline. The best time to visit is from February to June and October to the first week of December. It’s best to avoid the monsoon season, as frequent rains can disrupt travel plans and views. Don’t come here expecting crowds, fancy shops, or bustling mall roads like Shimla or Manali. Mukteshwar is for those who enjoy silence, drifting clouds, and the earthy fragrance of pine forests. This is a place to slow down—to sit, reflect, and truly be with yourself. Things to do: Visit the sacred Mukteshwar Dham Temple, walk along the dramatic cliffs of Chauli Ki Jali, and take a short trip to the serene Bhalu Gaad Waterfall. For forest walks and short hikes, just speak to a local shopkeeper or resident—they’ll gladly connect you with the right guide. Places to eat: Sattva Cafe, Rooftop Mukteshwar Cafe, Awara Cafe, and Dhara Cafe—each offering good food paired with unforgettable views. The best spot in Mukteshwar, however, is a small village called Seetla. Take a slow walk through the village lanes and let the uninterrupted views of the Nanda Devi range sink in. It’s moments like these that make Mukteshwar feel less like a destination—and more like a quiet state of mind.

Only khaliya top and nanda devi is a place to visit other...

Only khaliya top and nanda devi is a place to visit other than that there is nothing else to do, the market is small only 15-16 odd shops, place is complete off off beat. Dont expect much from home stays aswell, be it amenities, services, food taste, cleanliness. Everything is chargeable!! Even a bare minimum thing ie bonfire in a cold place like munsyari, they charge minimum 500rs for it per day. One time place to go.
