As a female solo traveler, my experience at Zylan Boutique Hotel in Colombo was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with the warmest hospitality, making me feel instantly welcome and safe in a foreign city. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which was both spacious and immaculately clean. The room boasted great water pressure in the shower, and the bathroom amenities – including a dental kit and shower gel – were thoughtfully provided, which I greatly appreciated as I was traveling with hand luggage only. Breakfast at Zylan was a delight. The à la carte menu offered a variety of classic options, allowing me to choose from freshly prepared eggs, chicken sausage, or pork bacon, accompanied by crispy hash browns, a delightful fruit platter, and an assortment of breads with jams, oats, and cereals. There was certainly something for every palate, and the quality exceeded my expectations. The attentive service at Zylan Boutique Hotel truly stood out. The staff was not only friendly but also highly professional, providing stellar service that is worthy of a five-star rating. Their commitment to guest satisfaction was evident throughout my stay. The hotel is situated in a calm area away from the hustle and bustle, which allowed me to enjoy some peaceful moments after a day of exploring Sri Lanka's vibrant culture. I wholeheartedly recommend Zylan Boutique Hotel to anyone visiting Colombo, particularly for solo travelers. I enjoyed my time so much that I would come back immediately! I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Colombo. The rooftop is definitely a highlight – the city view at night is absolutely stunning and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and I really enjoyed the authentic Sri Lankan dinner they served. The location couldn’t be better: it’s just behind the beautiful Gangaramaya Temple and within walking distance to many of Colombo’s main attractions like Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park, and the Colombo Museum. They also offer a very convenient airport transfer service, which made my arrival and departure stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Colombo!

    Dehiwela is very multi cultural and many differant varieties of restaurants and clothing along hill street which we stayed. people were very nice and polite to us and we felt safe even at late hours. also walking along hill street is quite a visual experience and we have done a few food crawls (like pub crawl but for food! ) along hill street. I would recommend dehiwela as a yet undiscovered gem in sri lanka with its own personality.

    Lovely town.

    Lovely town. Sri Lankan government buildings are located in this town. Citizenship and Immigration, Visa and NIC offices are here. There is also the Diyawanna Lake with board walks, bicycle routes, Parks and walk ways, perfect sceneries. Easy to get around town just by walking. About 30 minutes drive from Colombo Port City and One Galle Face Mall. About 45 minutes drive from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.

    This 3-Level Apartment has 3 Bed Rooms and is located in a secure and convenient location in Rajagiriya, Sri Lanka. The Hosts were quite friendly and responsive to your needs. The accommodation is well-equipped for a long-term stay as well. All Appliances and Equipment were in working order. The Washing Machine helped me to travel with less clothes. The Accommodation had a separate entrance with access to the Electric Roller Door. The 3rd Level had the Laundry with access to a Roof Top terrace where clothes could be dried and having a 360 degree view of the surroundings incl. high rise buildings in Colombo.

    Colombo has many main tourist attractions but these could...

    Colombo has many main tourist attractions but these could easily be seen within one day on a tuktuk. Another day to do the Pettah markets and some of the other plazas. Then you are done. Unless you have people to be with in Colombo two, maybe three, days should be enough. The real adventure of Sri Lanka lies out of Colombo in the central towns and cities and those towns along the coast. Tuktuks and taxis abound and can be inexpensive - all around Sri Lanka. HOWEVER always ask for a set price before you get in as to the cost of the trip you need. Tourists will always pay a little more than the locals but it can still be very cheap. A lot of shops and places do not accept credit card payments, so come with a wallet of cash. Supermarkets called Keells and Cargills for example abound are are a local prices. Their range of food and drinks is large. Rubbish can be a bit of an issue if you notice, but there are street cleaners who seem to collect the rubbish just thrown onto the road edge daily. The sun and heat can be harsh for foreigners so come prepared with big hats, sunburn cream, sunglasses and clothes that 'breathe'. The locals are generally very respectful, honest and helpful in answering any questions you may have. You will find lots of beggars as well on your travels. They appreciate any amount you can give to them.

    Great place to stay in Colombo area away from city centre but close enough for easy access to city amenities, shops and restaurants. Lovely colonial era building full of charm. The terrace and pool area is unique - right on the ocean. Nothing quite like it in the Colombo area.
