I just want to let you know about extra bed. It’s not comfortable (it’s sofa bed). I have book.a room for 2 adult and 1 child. The third Pearson bed is sofa bed. It’s really hard not comfortable. Long journey travellers can’t sleep like that. You guys have change that. Other then everything is extremely excellent.

The city is excellent, close to sea, wonderful facilities and smart. Dutch Hospital area, shopping centers, colonial buildings, modern architectures, clean city. People of the city are nice and helpful. Only Tuk Tuk is the problematic and disturbed tourists.

We like the people. Gall Face Green is our favourite place for walks. Was quite easy to get around Colombo. We did did a bit of medical tourisms and we were very well looked after at the Durdans Hospital.

We stayed for three nights in this very clean hotel. The pool on the top floor has a beautiful view. The hotel is not next to the beach and only has a view of the sea from some rooms. I wanted to thank Mr. Dileepa very much for the delicious fruit he brought us for breakfast and I am also very grateful to the very polite and kind staff of the hotel.

Colombo is Vibrant! Traffic is thick, but unusually orderly for a large city in Asia. Cars will stop for pedestrians, but don’t tempt the Fates by stepping in front of a bus! The city streets are almost always clean wherever one goes. People smile. Even though they have been going through a very difficult three years with few tourists, political troubles, and crushing price inflation of basic commodities most people greet you with a smile as they recognize you are a tourist. We spent five days in Colombo, and will spend two more there before we leave Sri Lanka. Do Not Miss the National Museum!!! Also, do not swim in the lakes! We saw crocodiles swimming by the Fort Train Station! Eat Local foods where Colombolos go… just ask and they will direct you to excellent cafes. Bring a water filter such as a “Life Straw” to refill your own plastic bottles from the tap and create less waste. Be prepared to sweat, and enjoy the sensational beaches. Put Colombo on your list.

Colombo is back.
Colombo is back. The hustle and bustle of pre-Covid / pre-Easter bombing era is back. Hotels cheap. Food is awesome and available in variety. Drawbacks: foreign booze in short supply. Many tuk-tuk drivers not keen to use meter - in the daytime hours and especially mornings. And not above charging foreigners 2 - 5x meter rate. Day trip to Galle is highly recommended (~3hr ride each way for Rs500 [US$1.25]). Station staff was very helpful. A few hours wandering Galle Fort was a great respite.
