I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Colombo. The rooftop is definitely a highlight – the city view at night is absolutely stunning and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and I really enjoyed the authentic Sri Lankan dinner they served. The location couldn’t be better: it’s just behind the beautiful Gangaramaya Temple and within walking distance to many of Colombo’s main attractions like Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park, and the Colombo Museum. They also offer a very convenient airport transfer service, which made my arrival and departure stress-free. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Colombo!

Taprobane was the most amazing hotel we stayed in during our trip in Sri Lanka. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They were so smiley and welcoming and also looked after us so well! The hotel is new and extremely clean. The rooms are huge. The bed is lovely. The whole place is genuinely well made and maintained. Absolute gem of a hotel. We ordered room service the last night of our stay and the butter prawns were tremendous. We were pleasantly surprised to see the food being so on point too! If you are staying in Colombo this hotel is THE place to get some rest from the city bustle. Well done to everyone working there and special thanks to Deeptha for his support and efforts!

Great location on the coastline, east walk, tuk tuk or uber access to all the city sights. Restaurant offered a widen selection of food both a la carte and buffet. My room (408) was clean and comfortable, very generous in size, with a large balcony and ocean views. Double glazing on windows blocked out street and train noise.

Dehiwela is very multi cultural and many differant varieties...

Dehiwela is very multi cultural and many differant varieties of restaurants and clothing along hill street which we stayed. people were very nice and polite to us and we felt safe even at late hours. also walking along hill street is quite a visual experience and we have done a few food crawls (like pub crawl but for food! ) along hill street. I would recommend dehiwela as a yet undiscovered gem in sri lanka with its own personality.

Lovely town.

Lovely town. Sri Lankan government buildings are located in this town. Citizenship and Immigration, Visa and NIC offices are here. There is also the Diyawanna Lake with board walks, bicycle routes, Parks and walk ways, perfect sceneries. Easy to get around town just by walking. About 30 minutes drive from Colombo Port City and One Galle Face Mall. About 45 minutes drive from Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport.

Malabe is a busy semi-urban area, just far enough from the really busy crowded streets of Colombo to enable visitors to walk along lanes and between paddy fields, and get a taste of life in Sri Lanka outside of the city. Nearby, the small marsh, the "Chandrika Kumarathunga Mawatha Wetland" - beside a canal and well-cared-for "jogging track" - offers a lovely selection of bird life and glimpses of the huge water monitors swimming in the canal. To see even more wildlife of Sri Lanka, spend a couple of days inland visiting Sinharaja Rainforest or Yala National Park for a safari.

Watumulla is really close to the Ocean, the beach is...

Watumulla is really close to the Ocean, the beach is stunning, and the bars great. There is a dive School (October to May) just north and the Mount Lavinia does incredible buffet lunches. Nothing better than Sunday lunch tehre, and an afternoon in the sun by the pool. Its really fast into Colombo in a Tuk.

Nice people who are usually smiling and helpful. A number of street scammers when we first arrived but were quickly sent on their way. Crossing the road in some places like taking your life in your hands..even pedestrian crossings often ignored by drivers

Great place to stay in Colombo area away from city centre but close enough for easy access to city amenities, shops and restaurants. Lovely colonial era building full of charm. The terrace and pool area is unique - right on the ocean. Nothing quite like it in the Colombo area.

I made two visits to Colombo - first 4 nights and then 8 nights. Nice city with nice people. Tourists though are taxed higher and at times charged more. Govt regulations I take it !!!!! Their visa rules should also be compatible to tourists who want to stay longer
