Our host was so lovely and helpful. He organised lifts for us and tour to tea plantation. The breakfast was fresh and served to us every morning. The room was very clean. The views from the property are stunning. The pool area is gorgeous. A great stay. Nice walk down the hill to ella and a tuktuk back each night. We paid 500 to get us up the hill which is well worth it.

The accommodation was in a fairy-tale location, even more beautiful than the pictures in the advertisement. The view alone is worth much more money, making the accommodation extremely good deal just for this reason. The host was not intrusive at all but ensured that we had no worries. He took us around the city with a tuk-tuk completely free of charge, and the breakfast was perfect and plentiful, spiced up with the view.

We loved this property so much! Really comfy big bed, the bedding was clean and fresh. The views from this place are what sold it for it but we booked based on its lovely reviews… the breakfast is delicious. All home made Sri Lankan food and it’s brought to the balcony where you can enjoy the view and listen to the wildlife. The father and son running this place do such a lovely job at making you feel welcome and at home. It’s also a shorter walk to Ella rock trail head from here too which is a bonus. It’s a short tuk tuk ride out of the town centre but we were happy to walk in and get tuk tuks back up as it’s a steep windy road… It’s so worth it for the view, lovely hosts and breakfast !

This place was absolutely amazing! The staff were incredibly helpful and made everything so easy and waiting for us late in the night, and even checked regularly to make sure we’re safe (our tuk tuk broke on our way to the location). The room was huge, spotless, and super comfortable. But the best part? The view! Waking up to the sight and sound of a waterfall was pure magic. And the breakfast — SO GOOD! Can’t wait to come back!

I did not like Ella.

I did not like Ella. Too touristy, too expensive, maybe if it had been sunny, it would have been different. For people who are used to traveling, for people above 50 yo, there are other places to go.

One of the best little towns to spend a quiet holiday.

One of the best little towns to spend a quiet holiday. Ambience and the vibe is great and it never fails to amaze me. There are so many places to see and one trip is never enough as there are man hidden gems to discover. I have been there over 5-6 times but I think there are more places for me to discover. Food is great and people are very friendly.

The town of Ella is packed, noisy, and touristy. There’s so many nice hotels outside the town. They’re lovely things to see in the area, although it really is a bit touristy for example the nine arches bridge

Vibrant high street with lots of restaurants bars and local shops. Places of interest mini Adam’s peak and 8 Arches bridge. Mainly tourists therefore prices were a little high. However worth a visit and ease of access to other places of interest. Easy to get around walking

We arrived in Ella via a different route than many ( from...

We arrived in Ella via a different route than many ( from the west coast) due to weather impacting our plans. We’d experienced real’ Sri Lanka in Negombo, Bentota and Haputale, and on our journey in to the hills through Ratnapura. If we’re honest, arriving in Ella felt like arriving in a European holiday resort. It lacked authenticity and burgers and pizzas are all the thing. Take your time to seek out the Sri Lankan restaurants to get a true experience. Having said that the tourist sights were impressive - even if they were over run with instagrammers!

Ella is a small busy town we stayed 5 mins out at the tip top hotel where you could see the nine arches bridge We could walk down to the train line although a goats track it was still a great way to walk into Ella following the train line Highly recommend to eat at Mateys Hut best food and great value for money Don’t forget to include little Adam’s peak and stop at 98 acres pool club on your way back for a cocktail

This hotel is a complete find! We were signposted to this hotel by our driver whilst in Sri Lanka and it had the most phenomenal views we have ever seen, completely breathtaking! The accommodation is basic, however immaculately clean and comfortable. This is the best resting stop after a day exploring Ella. Incredible value for money. Breakfast isn't included but their is a great cafe for breakfast at the entrance to the hotel track

Stunning view and so peaceful - nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Ella town. Lying in the nets while the trains go past is a real luxury. The family who own the property are lovely and go above and beyond to assist. The breakfast is also delicious and plentiful. Loved our stay here.

The view at restaurant on top floor is beautiful. Staff are nice. Location of hotel is very good. Not far to the viewing spot of Nine Arch Brirge. Walking distance to the most happening street in Ella. It is safe to walk even at night after dinner & stroll for shopping for souvenier etc..

Exceptional views, close to town walking along the rail tracks which was fun. Great rooms with balcony, huge comfy bed and large bathroom, good breakfasts. Sitting on rooftop deck at sunset was great, plus being able to use the infinity pool next door at 1000 Rps was a luxury after walks.
