We really enjoyed our stay, relaxing by the pool, excursions throughout Sigiriya with a jeep arranged by the staff, the room. The staff is what really stands out, two of us got ill due to a restaurant in Sigiriya. The staff took amazing care of us!

This could be the nicest place we stayed in Sri Lanka and very good value. The road up to it makes you wonder but when you get there it is fantastic. The room was immaculate, breakfast was beautiful and the staff and pool were unreal.

We spent in hotel only 1 night but if we would stay in Sigiriya longer we would definetly stay here. The second we came, personal were so nice and helpful. Location of hotel is amazing, walk distance to Lion rock and 20 min with tuk tuk to Dambulla caves. The room was spacious, clean, with amazing view. Breakfast in morning was amazing, homemade mix of western and traditional sri lankan dishes with fresh cut fruit. 10/10

The property is located a little way from the town but easy to walk to sigiriya rock. It's like being in jungle and having a pool was a bonus especially after a day out. The breakfast is one the best we have eaten. The owners really made you feel welcome.

What a well managed property! We loved our stay at Amba Yaalu - the staff and management at the property are so kind and made such an effort to make our stay special. A very special shout out to Sachini, Rehani, Shehara, Hansika, Reshani, Champika and all others who went out of their way to make us comfortable. We stayed in a two-bedroom villa which was absolutely stunning — spacious, private and beautifully designed, with views that made it hard to leave. The setting itself is incredible, with the water and landscape creating a calm, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Breakfasts and dinners were excellent throughout our stay, and a special mention must go to Madushan, who looked after us at every meal. His attention to detail and genuine warmth really stood out. Our butler, Dilmith, was equally fantastic — he quietly organised everything for us, including our spa sessions which were superb. Nothing was ever too much trouble. All in all, it was one of those rare places that manages to combine luxury with real heart. We left feeling properly rested and already talking about when we might come back.

Seeing the most relaxing pool and greenery of the hotel gave me a sense of calmness from the time I arrived. The Staff were very helpful in wanted to know our needs and arranged for the Safari jeep to pick us up directly from the hotel. As a wildlife enthusiast I loved how this hotel is built to blend with nature and is felt when in the property. Breakfast was great and I got to try a few Sri Lankan spices with egg hopper. Made sure to use the discount I had on the Spa and was exactly what I needed after a good game drive. Didn't really have time to try their other activities although tempting but hey there's always a next time.

Fantastic stay, we decided to add an additional night we enjoyed ourselves so much. The hotel manager/owner? Nimal was superb, he made us feel welcome and was available 24/7. We had some issues with a scooter we rented and he came with his team to where we were stranded to resolve. The whole team went above and beyond for us. Out of all rge locations we stayed in Sri Lanka, the food here topped the list. Absolutely delicious and fresh from their garden, be sure to ask for a tour! A great place to end the trip

Great place to stay for visiting Sigiriya Rock and the surrounding area. The facilities were very nice and the staff was very attentive (if at times overly so). It was nice to relax at the pool after exploring the rock area in the morning. My friends and I also enjoyed the spa, which was needed after hiking during our time in Sri Lanka. There were a lot of breakfast choices and I appreciated that it varied a bit the two mornings my friends and I were there.

The village tour was very disappointing.

The village tour was very disappointing. They didn't explain any thing during the tour. All you get is a short bullock, tracktor and boat ride. They eat the same food 9rice and veg) as can be found in Srilanka, so nothing different with the village food either. Dont get cheated

Dambulla is a great city with significant historical value...

Dambulla is a great city with significant historical value in Sri Lanka, especially known for the Dambulla Cave Temple and the Pidurangala Rock hike. To avoid the high heat in the afternoon, I recommend visiting Pidurangala early in the morning or in the evening. An early morning hike offers an amazing and beautiful sunrise view. You can visit the Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple at any time, but climbing the rock steps can be difficult in the afternoon due to the heat.

The town is a little gem. Small enough to walk, easy streets to negotiate, great views, moderate temperatures, great food at half Kandy prices, a harmonious mix of Muslim, Tamil, and Sinhala citizens, there is a lot to appreciate in Matale.

This was the second time we explored the Naula area.

This was the second time we explored the Naula area. The views are surreal, and the drive under the tree canopy is absolutely beautiful. The roads are not very crowded, which makes the drive smooth and relaxing. You can also find many nice roadside food places that offer authentic local flavors. There are plenty of spice shops along the way as well. Apart from the stunning viewpoints, the area also has several beautiful temples and archaeological sites that are worth visiting.

From the last time I visited Sigiriya it has improved so much. It is looked after very well and kept very clean. I took my son and the guide who took us was very knowledgeable and helpful. The view at the top is simply amazing and a place you must visit if you travel to Sri Lanka.

Dambulla is a wonderful place to stay, ideally located for exploring many nearby attractions on easy day trips. The Dambulla Cave Temple is our favourite highlight, and we especially loved its peaceful surroundings. Throughout our stay, we enjoyed delicious traditional food, which was truly exceptional. The people are incredibly friendly and always helpful, adding to the overall charm of the experience. Dambulla is also home to a large river and an international cricket ground, making it a great place to visit for cricket lovers when matches are on. Getting around is very convenient, with options including private tuk-tuk hire, self-drive tuk-tuks, or public buses. Dambulla is our favourite place to relax, explore, and truly enjoy a holiday in Sri Lanka.

A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

climbing Sigiriya rock was well worth the effort, the views are unmatched, I would highly recommend it, also if you have the energy climb Pidurangala rock as well to get the perfect picture of Sigiriya

The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect space to relax after exploring Dambulla. The hotel’s atmosphere is peaceful and charming, with a great balance between modern comfort and natural surroundings. The food was delicious and freshly prepared, and I truly appreciated the attention to detail in every aspect of the service.
