We were moved to Casa Del Mare Mediterraneo as there were works in Amfora, but it was JUST PERFECT! Highly recommended stay. We stayed there for 2 nights but I would surely come back and stay longer. Hotel Kerber-Gatz in Old Town Kotor, Montenegro, is a gem — and since it just opened in May, it deserves more recognition. Even before I arrived, two receptionists were in touch, incredibly warm and accommodating, answering all my questions. When I checked in, they greeted me personally, already on top of everything I’d asked. My room was beautiful, with stunning views (even from the bathroom), and the hotel itself, once a private home, is impeccably designed — I had a peek into other rooms, and every one was done to the same high standard. The staircases are lined with fine art, far beyond the generic hotel decor you usually see. Breakfast surprised me: I normally skip hotel breakfasts, but here it felt like joining a lively, well-run home — fresh food, cheerful staff, and while I ate, they quietly tidied my room. Throughout my stay, I had a few odd requests — all handled smoothly, no eye rolls. The bed was wildly comfortable, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and even though the hotel is right in the middle of the old town nightlife, the soundproofing was excellent. Little luxuries like the plush robes didn’t go unnoticed. What really blew me away was my departure: I left at dawn, and the cook packed me a to-go lunch, while the night manager personally carried my bags out through the old town gates and loaded them into my taxi. I’ve never felt so genuinely cared for by hotel staff anywhere. If you’re debating where to stay in Kotor — stop. Stay here.

I decided to visit Montenegro with my 3 kids during mid July 2024, after reading many reviews we decided to stay at Historic Boutique Cattaro Hotel Kotor. I am glade we made this decision, the hotel is extremely clean and location is excellent just next to the Kotor Old Town Sea Gate. The breakfast is decent, you can find breads and pastry, eggs, cheese, cold meats, pastry, etc. Special thanks to Tanja, Andrijana, and Milan for being so friendly to me and my kids, they are well trained in hospitality. These three amazing staff helped me a lot. The only downside from my point view as someone visiting from Dubai is the air conditioner, yes they are good and functioning but not as strong as we middle eastern would love. Overall, I really enjoyed this hotel and support provided to me. By the way, their transportation company is excellent, whenever I need car with driver they are always available to take me (of course with charge). Thanks to everyone ☺️

Beautiful place to visit, but extreme madness in August.

Beautiful place to visit, but extreme madness in August. Traffic and parking are absolutely impossible. Paid garage closes at midnight, so you have no choice but to leave earlier. We did a small group boat tour to the blue cave...nothing special. Avoid the hassle. Our location was too far, and it took 3 hours back and forth, with a short 15-minute swim at the cave, and a crazy, bumpy, uncomfortable ride back and forth. Not recommended if you have neck or back pain. We are young and fit and found it not relaxing at all.

Good self catering apartment equipped with basic kitchen utensils for cooking. Would be helpful to have some necessities such as cooking oil, salt and pepper, which guests staying only a few nights as we did, are unlikely to purchase. Two double bedrooms and two bathrooms means the apartment would be particularly good value when shared between more than one family. Good base for exploring Boka Bay, though there are options closer to Kotor if this is your main reason for visiting. All in all we found the apartment a great base for our short trip. The pool area was lovely with sensational views. We would have liked to know that there was no cafe/ bar on site however, as the photos showed, as this was part of the reason we chose this particular apartment. During the day we ate at Tramontana Beach Bar which was lovely - a bonus was the children’s play area. We had a day out exploring Boka Bay with a private hire boat company - Taxi Boat 65. We found this to be an excellent way to make the most of our short time there and our skipper to be very knowledgeable and informative. On this day we ate at Ribarsko selo - a fish/ seafood restaurant accessed by boat. The setting was beautiful and the food wonderful. You do need to book ahead.

A very small peaceful place in the Kotor Bay.

A very small peaceful place in the Kotor Bay. We were there in August and there was no public events, parties, or other entertaining options. You have only few local stores, a bakery, few restaurants, and a beach to enjoy. The only road leading through Prcanj is pretty very stressful to drive it. It is very narrow and windy with blind corners and yes, count with many stops and much longer ride because of busy traffic. If you need more contents, Kotor is a very nice city to visit nd not so far.

The old town is busy and buzzing but with big groups of tourists wandering around. There was a lot of music with a romantic atmosphere. Local supermarkets were packed & stressful to visit. The cable car has stunning views but at quite a price! The cable car shuttle bus is expensive - may be worth getting a taxi. We got stranded at the top when rain stopped the cable car running. Then the return bus was delayed & the taxi drivers tried telling us the bus had broken down! Lots of waiting around it took the whole day in the end.

A beautiful little town - relaxed, historic and picture perfect. Love that they have stopped cars entering the town. Restaurants along waterfront were all excellent, staff polite, helpful and spoke good English. Easy boat taxis to Our Lady of the Rocks. Seems to be a popular destination wedding venue, especially at weekends, but this just adds to the buzz of the town. Love love love Perast!! Two days is perfect.

Dobrota is a quiet place located in the municipality of Kotor. It is a perfect place to stay if you want a quiet vacation and peace. The water is crystal clear, calm, and good for swimming, but there are not many sandy parts. There is no crowd by the sea because there are many locations where you can place your towel and take a swim. There is not enough shade, except in the beach bar or hotel bar. There are a few restaurants/beach bars, two markets, one bakery and that is all you need. The place is long and the waterfront stretches all the way to Kotor, so you can walk along its entire length. Food is pretty good in every restaurant. Daily temperatures are not too high because the place is surrounded by hills.
