If you want to spend the first night or last night close to Windhoek, this is a great option. I would suggest to stay at least two nights to have time to participate in the various wildlife activities they offer on the premises.
Corne met us with welcome drinks at the reception and gave us all the necessary information we needed for our stay. He and the rest of the staff have been very helpful and responsive.
If you read my review you probably have read as well some other recent reviews, as I did and I almost cancelled my stay here. I'm so glad I didn't, because we had a wonderful stay, one night was just too short.
The recent very negative reviews definitely don't do justice to this great place that has been created with a much deeper reason than just being a lodge. Don't expect a luxury lodge at the top end, but that is not what you are paying anyway. The cost is totally justified for what you get.
We stayed in chalet number one, very convenient next to the main building with the restaurant, reception and common reading area.
Our room was super clean and nothing was missing, everything well stocked, towels, coffee, tea and minibar.
There are definitely no rats in the room, my guess is that some guests might have mistaken the rock hyrax for rats.
It could happen if you leave the sliding windows to the deck open that some curious animals enter your room, the instructions to always close the doors is clearly marked, even baboons could enter and they could really mess around.
But aren't the animals one of the reason why we come to visit Namibia? Just don't let them enter your room.
We had a wonderful sunset horse ride which Cindy, the caretaker of the horses. She is very calm and did a wonderful job and her colleague prepared us a sundowner for our last sunset in Namibia out in the wilderness, amazing!
The 4 course diner was delicious and so was the breakfast!

The staff here are fantastic - very friendly, welcoming and warm. They go the extra mile and seem genuinely happy. Special thank you to Petrus and the front of house team for being so kind.
The lodge has charm, good vibes and seemed much more authentic compared some other lodges we stayed at.
The location is incredibly peaceful and quiet. We saw giraffe, warthog, impala, kudu, waterbuck, mongoose, ostrich - either by sitting at the new waterhole viewing platform with a drink at sunset, or by going for a little walk .
We stayed in winter, but our room had a heat pump plus a woodburner which was lit by the staff every night. Super cosy.
Perfect spot to get a first taste of Namibia, recover and recharge after a long flight. We felt very at home.

Has a side bar for enjoying drinks at leisure. Their breakfast was delicious and filling. The staff, especially Catherine is very knowledgeable. They are all friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay at the venue and in Windhoek memorable one. The place is clean and even has a bookshelf for the “book worms “to pick books and read.
Hot water, Wifi, tv, etc are not even worth mentioning as they are standard. Security is on point. Swimming pool was sparkling.
I can only write good things about that place, because they deserve all the praise.

The lodge is strategically located, less than 1h drive from Sessriem, on the outskirt of a mountain in a very nice position. The rooms are modern, super clean and spacious, sorrounded by a green garden with many trees. The common areas are equally well equipped, clean and well maintained. The breakfast provides a large number of choices for food. The value for money of the dinner is extremely advantagious.

The room was extremely comfortable and we would have loved to spend more time here. We booked the sunrise drive which was one of the highlights of our trip to Namibia. The sunrise went on forever and our guide was very informative. Surprisingly we were the only ones who chose the option that morning.
The only downside was the restaurant. While the food was OK we had to sit inside next to a large mobile air conditioner. One staff member would move it so it didn’t blow directly on us and another would move it back. It was so strong it kept blowing our plastic water bottle over. A bit more sensitivity would have been welcome.

Besides what I already said, I really appreciated the good reading lights at the beds. So often the bed lights are useless. Namibgrens caters for everything, within a beautiful scenic surrounding. There is just no end!

i loved how safe the place is.
i loved how safe the place is. Our kids are young aged 7,4 and 2 years old. At first i was sceptical about them sleeping at the Gypsy wagon alone whilst we were in the other cabin about 20 meters away from them. But the kids actually enjoyed sleeping alone. Everything is just so perfetct and the creativity is on another level.

The museum is an amazing tribute to the people of Namibia and a stark reminder of humanity's ability for cruelty. I think it is worth visiting for both citizens and visitors to the country. The restaurant on the 4th floor is a hidden gem. Great setting and excellent service

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.

Walking through the town felt safe.
Walking through the town felt safe. It is very clean, and people are friendly and helpful. The taxi, Lefa is brilliant! We used them quite a bit whilst here.
We found the malls are impressive! The park in town was a breath of fresh air, clean and well policed.
The people within the museums are informative and wow, they are free!

SOlitair mountain lodge is a beautiful lodge with an incredible setting. they have a beautiful pool and watering hole close by which brings animals in such as zebra and Gemsbok/Oryx. The rooms were comfortable and large and the space is neat and well maintained. friendly staff made it extra easy to check in. We definitelywould stay and extra night at this lodge.

The place is well situated and conveniently isolated to provide maximum enjoyment, the view is picturesque and calm. You have the freedom to prepare the food and enjoy it in a space that is well-organized and sufficient within one's needs. Easy access to the place with a small scenery to and from the place and one can also go on a sightseeing drive on good roads. The place is beautiful, excellently designed, well maintained and provides an exclusive intimate environment.
