Super comfy beds, spacious well-equipped rooms and friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is well located for both the city and the airport, and wifi worked well (we're digital nomads so had work to do during our stay). Only stayed a night, but we'd stay again.

There were really nice little touches in the room that made it feel very personal; very quiet and restful; high quality fresh and well prepared food; wide range of available drinks; staff were always available; was never asked for my room number because the staff made sure they already knew; the perfect place to stay before and after a Namibian safari. Of particular note, the staff were absolutely terrific, always smiling, friendly, helpful and willing to put in the extra effort to ensure a memorable stay. There was no obvious pecking order of seniority or demarcation of roles which ensured a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. I would certainly be pleased to stay here again and I can highly recommend Olive Grove to anyone who needs or wants to stay in Windhoek.

The staff here are fantastic - very friendly, welcoming and warm. They go the extra mile and seem genuinely happy. Special thank you to Petrus and the front of house team for being so kind. The lodge has charm, good vibes and seemed much more authentic compared some other lodges we stayed at. The location is incredibly peaceful and quiet. We saw giraffe, warthog, impala, kudu, waterbuck, mongoose, ostrich - either by sitting at the new waterhole viewing platform with a drink at sunset, or by going for a little walk . We stayed in winter, but our room had a heat pump plus a woodburner which was lit by the staff every night. Super cosy. Perfect spot to get a first taste of Namibia, recover and recharge after a long flight. We felt very at home.

The beauty of the scenery where Namib Desert Lodge is situated is not possible to do justice in photos. They have some marked trails you can hike by yourself, but also arrange trips and activities. It's a 2 hr drive from Sossusvlei and, yes, they do arrange daily excursions there - a must! The staff at Namib Desert Lodge were all wonderful - attentive and taking the best care of us. The room I had was great - clean and comfortable. The restaurant had good food - game meat always part of the menu - and they have a good wine cellar. I stayed five days and really relaxed there - enjoyed sitting outside in the lounge chairs with a book and watch a group of oryx/gemsbok come by the water hole just outside the lodge, every afternoon.

Has a side bar for enjoying drinks at leisure. Their breakfast was delicious and filling. The staff, especially Catherine is very knowledgeable. They are all friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay at the venue and in Windhoek memorable one. The place is clean and even has a bookshelf for the “book worms “to pick books and read. Hot water, Wifi, tv, etc are not even worth mentioning as they are standard. Security is on point. Swimming pool was sparkling. I can only write good things about that place, because they deserve all the praise.

Excellent rooms, immaculate clean. Fast check in, professional staff all around. Great rooftop bar with nice diverse food menu. Super sweet and professional waiters. There was a big group dining that evening in the corner, no hick up in service and staff went out of their way to accommodate other guest, putting terrace tables inside… really top top notch service minded crew in the rooftop bar! Spot on, please celebrate their contribution! Parking next to hotel, so convenient and located in / next to a mall. What else you need?

Windhoek is one of Southern Africa's cleanest and safest cities and you can walk around the many interesting sites safely during the day. There are people asking for help, especially children however they do not harass you. There are many great places to eat out and shop. Transport is cheap via Yango or numbered "kudu" taxi's that are literally everywhere.

The room was extremely comfortable and we would have loved to spend more time here. We booked the sunrise drive which was one of the highlights of our trip to Namibia. The sunrise went on forever and our guide was very informative. Surprisingly we were the only ones who chose the option that morning. The only downside was the restaurant. While the food was OK we had to sit inside next to a large mobile air conditioner. One staff member would move it so it didn’t blow directly on us and another would move it back. It was so strong it kept blowing our plastic water bottle over. A bit more sensitivity would have been welcome.

Besides what I already said, I really appreciated the good reading lights at the beds. So often the bed lights are useless. Namibgrens caters for everything, within a beautiful scenic surrounding. There is just no end!

Windhoek feels like an extension of home (Pretoria, South Africa). Familiar & similar culture. The city appeared clean and everywhere we went we were greeted by friendly staff and beautiful settings. I'd recommend to not stay longer than 3 days to experience Windhoek city, the surrounding area offers a lot of wildlife interaction and safari experiences. Windhoek is far from the Namib desert, which is a have-to-experience when visiting Namibia.

We stayed in this location mainly to visit Sossusvlei which is further south. Solitaire itself is a charming but tiny settlement - only a few buildings and a petrol station, however it has an amazing cafe serving "the world's best apple pie" and it was! Solitaire is about a 20 minute drive from Soft Adventure Camp at the Namib Naukluft Lodge.

The Hotel Pension Steiner was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. Warm water for showering was exceptional Additional prepared tea/coffee with in the room was awesome DSTV was wonderful. I missed other forms of entertainment other than Tv. The transport system within Windhoek was challenging as as the Yango app was not easily accessed via my person phone and other forms of taxis were so expensive. The shopping malls within Windhoek were closing early by 7pm that wouldnt allow me opportunity do some shopping as my program was ending late. Finding dinner was also challenging , the congestion at KFC was terrible.

SOlitair mountain lodge is a beautiful lodge with an incredible setting. they have a beautiful pool and watering hole close by which brings animals in such as zebra and Gemsbok/Oryx. The rooms were comfortable and large and the space is neat and well maintained. friendly staff made it extra easy to check in. We definitelywould stay and extra night at this lodge.
