- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 981 reviewsThis is not a typical hotel or regular one, it has it's own character. And you can feel it the moment you step in. You'll be welcomed by the owner in the morning shift or Robert in the evening shift both are great and welcoming. Robert though would find the time to answer your questions about Norway, planning your trip or even recommending what you can have for dinner! They're that awesome. Speaking of dinner they have restaurant at the same hotel that serve one of best home cooking Raindeer steaks and local Trout you might taste. It's part of the whole experience if I might say. Mathew and the lady in the restaurant were very helpful and kind. In addition to all of that, it has one of the best views in the world. 1 minute walk to the epic Vøringfossen waterfall. No doubt I will visit it again. Don't visit Norway without visiting this hotel for at least one night. Thank me later.Guest review byWaeel MSaudi Arabia
- From $162.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 1,153 reviewsless than 10min drive to Trolltunga P1 parking. The view from the room was something gives me awe followed by peace as I look out. I can sit there the entire morning with the breakfast and coffee in hand. There's EV charge point available just <1min walk from my unit, the rate was one time NOK300 back in June 2025 until fully charge or you unplug anytime after payment so count it carefully if your next withdrawal is the time your EV is fully charged. Staff was responsive over the booking engine chat room. Also, the picturesque Odda town is only <15min drive from the Apartment. My stay was more than perfect!Guest review byDEE INMalaysia
- From $194.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 1,333 reviewsEverything was wonderful. This was our base camp for hiking the Folgefonna Glacier and Trolltunga and an anniversary location for my wife and I. We arrived to fresh fruit and cider/water in the room. We were in the top floor corner room that was recently renovated. Spacious room with a great view of the fjord. The staff was excellent and don't miss an opportunity to eat at the restaurant. It is very good and likely one of the best for miles.Guest review byHine11United States

Modern apartment, appliances excellent. Great shower, washing machine and decent beds. Don’t pass this place by! it’s worth spending the extra money for it ! (bring your own provisions such as spices, cooking oil, coffee etc). Great place to camp as well if you’re a camper or have an RV.Guest review byHopeUnited States

Vickinghaug is set amongst incredible Norwegian fjord...
Vickinghaug is set amongst incredible Norwegian fjord scenary. It has the other point of interest in that there is a, no longer functioning in its original capacity , factory in the middle of the Fjord. Because it poses no environmental problems any longer. This factory gives the Fjord an interesting historical relevance. The proprietors are obviously always improving the function of the accomodation to suit lots of different styles of travellers. We stayed in a three bedroom, self catering apartment with views on both sides. We had a drink in the evening looking over the lake and the waterfall and dinner at night looking over the Fjord. The walks in the area are popular because they are so full of natural beauty and thus attract many hikers and campers . The town felt slightly off piste from the over used tourist pathways which suited us perfectly.Guest review byRosemary SusanAustralia - 10.0
Eidfjord is a really beautiful city.
Eidfjord is a really beautiful city. We enjoyed every moment there with those landscapes. Mountains, river and sandbeach will give you more relaxiation. You will have everything that will need for your stay. There is a small supermarket as well though we didn't think about the price ;-)Guest review bySandunSri Lanka - 10.0

We went from Bergen to Odda on Saturday and spent one night at the hostel. We went for the hiking on Sunday early morning and back to Bergen at the afternoon. The small town is really cosy and beautiful.Guest review byYuxueNetherlands - 10.0
Røldal is a small and a beautiful town.
Røldal is a small and a beautiful town. Nice walk in the nature also the views are fantastic. We did not explore the local food there because we are vegetarian. But tried coffee and Bakari. It was nice. You can see some good waterfall and steep mountains around the town and good water bodies. We did not swim but I think there are some places you can go swimming also saw some people kayaking. Folgefonna glacier is approximately one and half hour drive from the town. Given a chance you must go. It is just awesome.Guest review byAmitNorway - 8.0
All the restaurants and the hotel were closed.
All the restaurants and the hotel were closed. Not possible to eat out. The factory sale shop was closed at Saturday, to bad, because this is normally a shopping day in the bigger cities. The foodstore Spar was ok, selling much more than Food (toys, clothes, Fishing Equipment, hiking Equipment, house Paint, interior articles, knitting wool, fabrics etc).Guest review byNinaNorway - 10.0
Rjukan as a town has a fascinating history.
Rjukan as a town has a fascinating history. However the reason we come is to ice climb. Obviously, this is a niche attraction and Ice climbers will know why Rjukan. However, the history and beauty plus accessibility of venues is world class for this activity. Beyond the climbing, Rjukan is an interesting town with all the main amenities one could need as a base for exploring the amazing countryside in which it sits.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Hi! My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights.
Hi! My friend and I stayed here for 2 nights. We did the Trolltunga hike and this place was in the perfect location. It is very close by to the bus stop that takes you to Trolltunga and has plenty of parking. The room was nicely cleaned. The room we stayed in was with 6 beds and so we shared it with two couples also doing the hike. Definitely recommend it as a peaceful place with great access to hiking. The bedroom has a beautiful view of the fjords. The shared bathroom has a shower. The kitchen has full cooking necessities and a comfy couch. Note that it is the first floor of a bigger home. As we are backpackers on a budge, this place was perfect for us! Would stay here again! There is grocery store 4 minute walk away and hotel to eat at too. You can walk down to the fjord and jump in off the dock. Beautiful view! Make sure to look at the right location as there is another place down the hill called the same thing.Guest review byParkerUnited States - 8.0
The accommodation was spacious, new, modern and well-...
The accommodation was spacious, new, modern and well-equipped. It is a series of separate apartments on the first, second and third floors. Access is from a door on the street and it is not possible to unload a car from in front of the building. You have to park in another location but there is plenty of free parking available nearby. To get up to the apartments there is only a narrow stairway. The first floor apartment has a door opening on to a large roof-space with very nice views of the fjord and surrounding town.Guest review byCarolinaBrazil - 10.0

Eidfjord is a very practical location since from there is access to many activities and visits that I would recommend such as Vøringsfossen, Kjeåsen, Norsk Natursenter - Hardanger and a lot of sensational excursions. Apart from that you have Hardangerfjord, the Ulvik/Voss area, Hardangervidda just a few kilometers away by car. And the town is small, quiet and charming.Guest review byMiguel AngelNorway - 6.0
Tyssedal and Odda are both industrial towns.
Tyssedal and Odda are both industrial towns. There are mountains, the fjord and waterfalls, but there are also large heavy industry factories - one produces titanium oxide and one is a zinc smelter. They are there because they need power and there is a ready source of power from the hydro electric station located inside the mountain at Tyssedal. The location is great if you want easy access to Trolltunga and Bondhusvatnet, but it isn't very touristy - it is more of an industrial area. The Kraftmuseum is excellent. We ended up there because it was raining in the morning - however, it was really good - a film and then a guided tour of the old hydro electric station which has been restored. It also gives a lot of information about the area, how it changed from farming to industry and why it is so industrial. So to summarise - use Tyssedal/Odda as a base but don't expect unspoilt scenery.Guest review byGayeUnited Kingdom
