- From $57.43 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.2Good - What previous guests thought, 491 reviewsWe booked a cabin for 3 nights. Us and our 2yr old and 4yr old. The cabin was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It has a lovely little deck area then onto a lawn which was perfect for the children. A playground in the main camping area also fab. Toilets and showers really close. Everything was clean and the owners are lovely. We had such a great time.Guest review byImogeneNew Zealand
- From $142.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 677 reviewsPrevious reviews had been mixed and I was a bit concerned however I could not fault the place. The new owners Brett and Sue have done a wonderful job. Rooms were clean, we were welcomed by Brett who was both friendly and helpful. Close to the main attractions yet not on the main road. We walked to the springs, to dinner and also breakfast.Guest review byAngryAndoAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,313 reviewsWe loved this Villa. The view was great. The size of the room was perfect for my family. We could easily walk down town, to the spa, the thermal pools, the water park and so much more. When we had to add on an extra night they were so happy to meet our needs. I highly recommend this place. The staff was so kind and helpfulGuest review byMaraUnited States
- From $246.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 440 reviewsThis was one of the best places we stayed in NZ. Great location, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, wonderful kitchen—loved it. The staff (especially Dominic) went above and beyond to accommodate us—even jumping my car battery when it died overnight. 10/10 recommend this place, and can’t wait to go back!Guest review byAnnaUnited States

Scenic, lots to do and locals are friendly.
Scenic, lots to do and locals are friendly. Really easy to get around the town centre on foot, everything is close together. Recommend stopping at some cellar doors in Waipara on the way through if you are coming from Christchurch. We hiked, went quad biking with Hanmer Springs Attractions, visited the Hanmer Springs Pools, dined out and shopped at various locations.. We even hired a Rocket bike to do a lap of town and get our bearings. We drove up the Hanmer Springs Ski Area but unfortunately, lack of snow and windy weather prevented us having a day of snow sports. Charming townGuest review byHannahNew Zealand - 8.0

We would not usually stay in Amberley, but this time the location suits as a base to venture from. But we did find a few things to do that surprised us. Beach is awesome, Brew Moon much the same..Wineries for the girls, AwesomeGuest review byTracey - 10.0
Really comfortable well appointed rooms.
Really comfortable well appointed rooms. Great spot for a romantic weekend away. The hosts were great and knowledgeable about the area. The only problem we had was being able to hear the bar fridge at night as our room was closest to this area. Definitely ask for a room further away which we have had no problems with in the past. Great sitting in the spa pool at night watching the stars.Guest review bySandyNew Zealand - 10.0

The Waipara has our favourite wines in NZ we love a couple nights there after doing some business in Christchurch. We always book a couple long lunch taste the chef experiences at Black Estate and Greystone then fit in a tasting at Pegasus bay and George’s Road and The Bone Line. You can cycle the wineries but we haven’t because we are always there in winter. Several of them have their own accommodation BnB and there are others in the area. The Amberley market on Saturday mornings is a good place to stock up on local goodies for self catering.Guest review byJenniferNew Zealand - 10.0

My stay at Keratu Downs Farm stay was excellent, the peaceful and beautiful surroundings are amazing as was the gardens and farm walks. The Musterers studio was very spacious with lovely furniture, the bed was very comfortable. The outside furniture under the veranda with grape vines dangling above was a lovely place to relax. The kitchen was well appointed with everything needed to cook meals. The breakfast tray was awesome with plenty of provisions to make a great breakfast. I would definitely recommend a stay at Keratu Downs Farm stay.Guest review byStuartNew Zealand - 8.0

The Amberley Hotel is an "Oasis" on the out-skirts of Christchurch. Arriving on a late afternoon flight my wife & I just wanted to get out of Christchurch & avoid the "Knock-Off Traffic" around the City. A short 45mins north is the wee town of Amberley & the Amberley Hotel is a good first night stopover after a tiresome day of travel. There are soft beds, good food & cold beer. What more could one want?Guest review byCapt. Robert McKay GrayAustralia - 6.0

I think Waipara is a nice day trip, or good place to pass through and stop for lunch. We ate lunch at Greystone which was lovely. We stopped at Terrace Edge to taste, but there were no restaurants for dinner or little town to stop and stroll through/rent bikes unless you drove back down to Amberly, and very few places to stay. This was our last day, and we are not huge wine people, so we didn't take full advantage of everything the area had to offer. I think this is an up and coming area, so still room to grow. On the plus side, not at all crowded.Guest review bySherman
