The location is perfect. The Octagon, the university, and many restaurants are an easy walk. The suite was actually an amazing apartment. Very comfortable and incredibly spacious. I would definitely stay there again.

Booked the Family Suite, and the staff were very kind and considerate confirming bed preferences, parking, and offering a cot for our son. Looking at the photos, we thought the room would be smaller, but it turned out perfect. The hotel is clean, well equipped, and in a very convenient location and even has a supermarket within walking distance. You may hear some sirens since it’s across from a major hospital, but once the door is closed it’s totally manageable. Our son even loved seeing a rescue helicopter up close!

Martinborough is a gorgeous place to visit any time of the year if you like quaint country towns, a wonderful selection of vineyards to experience, boutique shopping, great food, coffee, and, of course, wine. If you are visiting Wellington for a few days, a one/two-day trip 'over the hill'/The Remutaka hill, to 'Marty' is a must. You'll enjoy a contrast in vibe, scenery, activities, and the locals are very welcoming. A Wellingtonian, I love we have 'Marty', only a 'stone's throw' away, to enjoy, and where we can take visiting friends and family for a special day out. The terrain is flat, making sauntering around town or striding out to explore the area easy. There's also bicycle and crocodile bike hire for a fun way to visit the vineyards, and plenty of lovely and varied accommodation on offer too if you want to stay over. A destination with so much to offer, you're guaranteed a fun time.

Everything within walking distance.

Everything within walking distance. However there's NO pedestrian crossings from the motel side of the road! I'm a bit slow with bad hips and I was taking my life into my hands to get across to the mall lol. Great little cafe called "Local Authority" under the council building next to the gym! Fantastic coffee and lovely staff!

Paraparaumu is part of the Kapiti Coast.

Paraparaumu is part of the Kapiti Coast. The beach is great for walking and beachcombing, not sure about swimming though. You can catch a boat over to Kapiti Island which is a bird sanctuary. Just a bit inland is the Coastland Shopping centre, with a good shopping mall and eateries, and also a couple of supermarkets, useful when self catering. Beyond the front, it is more of a residential town, but there is a railway station, were you can get the train to Wellington, takes about an hour, great for a day out. Also, easy access to State Highway 1, with lots of places to visit .
