I had a fantastic experience at this hostel! The receptionist was very friendly and helpful during check-in, making me feel welcome from the start. The shared kitchen was tidy and spacious, providing a great space to cook and socialize. I also want to highlight the excellent service from the staff. I accidentally locked myself out late at night, but when I called for help, they responded quickly and assisted me in unlocking my room door. Overall, a great stay with excellent service. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Everything. The location, the wonderful property and Carolyn, the host - not to mention her wee dog, Lacey. We had two grandsons with us and Carol was brilliant with them, showing them rocks, fossils and getting them friends with the sheep!

Our stay at Waitomo Retreat was absolutely perfect. The place itself was beautiful, and the views were truly amazing. We stayed in a small cabin with two bedrooms, and it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. The host and his parents were incredibly accommodating and made sure every part of our stay was just right. Their warm hospitality really made the experience special. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay — highly recommended!

Awesome place. Convenient location, close to Waitomo Caves. This is the real farm, ducks run around, you can see a huge beautiful bull, horses, and we were lucky enough to see sheep being sheared in the morning. Self-service check-in is very convenient. And everything, including the showers, toilets, and kitchen, is very clean and tidy. The kitchen has all the necessary facilities and cooking utensils. This place will be interesting for both adults and children (there is a trampoline, real tractors that they can sit on, and many other interesting objects and details). The staff is also very helpful.

This cabin is super cute! And the main area had a great place to chill or chat and kitchen facilities. We enjoyed walking around the farm and seeing the animals. The place is full of fun quirky details and character!
