Great atmosphere in summer.
Great atmosphere in summer. Very attractive old town with lots of interesting buildings. Easy to get around on foot. You need a car to explore the rest of Gotland. The nearby island of Fårö is definitely worth a visit just to see the raukar pinnacles on the beach. The island was Ingmar Bergman's favourite place and there is a museum there.

Visiting the Medieval walled city, with its ruined churches was one of the treats of our vacation. Walking in the city, one got an inkling of how it must have been 500 years ago. (Caution: there are a lot of hills!) The museum holds a number of runes that are remarkable to see. If you have a car, day trips around Gotland include 18th Century churches, sea stacks ( a truly interesting geological occurrence), and many old, preserved windmills. Side note: We used Europcar for our rental car as the major American firms were booked solid. They even imported a new Volkswagen for us to drive as I required a manual transmission car. Visby and Gotland are off the beaten track for many travelers, but well worth a visit.

Just what we needed for a family stay on Gotland.
Just what we needed for a family stay on Gotland. The restaurant was good. We hired bikes at the resort and cycled to nearby fishing village. Good swimming and a diving platform in the sea. One day in Visby was interesting for all. The museum is fascinating and we walked around the walls. Everyone enjoyed Gotland.

A very unique place to visit. I am glad we went there. So many things to do hiking, history, dining. Could easily spend a week in this town/Gotland. Only drawback, rather expensive, but due to the somewhat remote location probably unavoidable.

Visby is a must-see if you are going to Sweden.
Visby is a must-see if you are going to Sweden. Be sure to visit the museum for a good overview of its history. If you can afford it, rent a car for a day and drive around Gotland. The botanical garden in Visby especially nice. And the big square for lunch or dinner is atmospheric. Plan several months ahead if you are flying there.

The view from the top of Lotsbacken (Pilote´s hill) and the old weather mill is breathtaking and if you walk at the wateredge you will see million year old stone formations -raukar and remnants of cement ovens from 17th Century and younger. On bike you have access to the gulf course, to Forests and beaches on very pleasant roads. We had oppurtunity to eat at different places around the North of Gotland, in Slite all restaurants were renovated so we coo.ked only our breakfast. In Slite you walk or bike, everything is near! There is fun for all ages from library, cinema to water sports, canoting, tennis and all for outdoor activity!

The beach in front of the property is clean and nice, the water is not clear, it has a lot of algae. The apartment we stayed in was as expected from the pictures uploaded by the property. It was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space.

Very pretty hotel in the middle of old Visby. Walking distance from the Destination Gotland terminal. The hotel was organized very well considering the current pandemic recommendations (i.e. wearing masks, breakfast booked in half-hour shifts to avoid crowding, common area seating arranged appropriately, etc) and, of course, it's a beautiful building.

Location, staff and the rooms where perfect temperature even when there is a heat wave. Even if the hotel is far (3 km) from public transportation me and my fiancé still had a blast exploring Gotland from this location and the stroll back and forth was super nice didn't grow old at all

Excellent place! We chose to live in a tent and it was out of our expectations. The room is big and well equipped. We have 2 sofas and 1 refrigerator. The view is super nice in the resort and you can rent kajak with reasonable price. The place is also near the bus station so the transportation is also nice. The breakfast is amazing as well. Highly recommend.
