Quiet and cozy hotel located by the beach.The food is simply great and all the staff is lovely and careful. The rooms have a king size bed very comfortable and a nice bathroom with a shower. It is about 30min distance by car from Saly. Perfect choice!

The hotel itself is so nice. There is a lovely pool and a fromager tree which u can climb. The beach is ca 15 mins of walk and is just gorgeus. The owner is really kind a the rooms are lovely.

Absolutely stunning experience thanks to this closed compound that feels very private, filled with baobabs and real African nature. The place is run by a French gentleman who is super nice and gladly helps you out with anything you need, this is probably the best place to stay if you look for a base to do trips to Bandia Reserve. Thanks to its unique atmosphere, spending a night in this serene, beautiful place is a travel must on its own!!

This place was a wonderful oasis of calm. The staff were lovely and very patient with our very poor French language skills. The breakfasts were simple but filling. We pre-ordered our evening meals which were delicious - fresh and flavoursome. The compound is well kept and attractive, and the pool was very welcome. Our beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean, hot water was plentiful. The owner was very helpful with sorting out transport [cars and drivers] for us. This place was perfect for our needs and we would absolutely stay here again if we were in the area.

The type of room we booked was unavailable because of maintenance/ renovation works, therefore we got an upgrade to a suite 'le chef'. Magnificent, spacious, nicely decorated room with double bathroom!!! The location is excellent, nice and quiet at a perfect beach and at walking distance (+/- 2km, it might be worth taking a calèche ;-)) from the centre. Very pituresque beach environment with kids playing in the sea and exercising on the beach, fishermen working in their pirogues and women selling their handicrafts. The restaurant serves superb food!

The accommodation was perfect. The room was clean, spacious and well-supplied. Exactly like the photos. The beach is only 2 minutes away and it is very clean and quiet. But what made our holiday really special was the staff: Graziella, her father, Omar, Ellen and everyone was always kind and welcoming. They helped us with day trips, airport transfers, food and drinks. Thank you! If we ever return to Senegal, we will definitely come back to Somone and stay in Havre de Paix.

This is a very nice hotel just by the beach with rooms over the restaurant and small bungalows just on the beach. It serves fresh French breakfasts and tasty dinners. There are two small swimming pools and nice resting areas around. The beach is beautiful and the city is nice as well. Good store with natural cosmetics and even a deli with French food. There is also a church - an architectural pearl. Well-organized airport transfer.

After having visited some beautiful remote places in Senegal...

After having visited some beautiful remote places in Senegal, Somone felt very touristic. It is a nice place with a lovely beach and mangrove, so there is plenty to explore. However, given that it is a place where tourists flock, there are quite a few pretty aggressive street sellers and hustlers, so do not expect to enjoy your dinner in peace and quiet. The beaches are easily accessible if you stay in one of the hotels at the beach front, for everyone else there are only a few access routes. A great place if sun bathing and swimming is your cup of tea, for a genuine experience of true Senegal there are better places.

Very nearby Saly.

Very nearby Saly. Saly has a lot to offer concerning bars and restaurants. Mbour is more quiet. The beach is during the day not crowded, you can walk on the beach. In the evening around 5-6pm there is a lot of young crowed playing on the beach, swimming.

I'm a business owner; I know keeping up with a demanding...

I'm a business owner; I know keeping up with a demanding career like hospitality isn't for the negligent. People pay attention to details—rooms are clean. I tried the local dish, Thieboudienne (a bit like the Jollof rice), and they made it so well. Modou, the driver, is very kind-hearted and available when you need him(his vehicle is neat, too 😀). The DSS Airport is in a developing outskirts and if you want a place close by, considering that it is not downtown Dakar, the place is cool! Overall, I think the crew at Poponguine is passionate about what they do, and it's obvious.

The facility (hotel) fully satisfied our expectations. Very well-working staff from all departments!!! Both the beach, swimming pools and the area around the hotel are attractive to guests. The towns near the hotel (town and villages) "tourist-friendly" with a specific atmosphere. What is very important, in such places "we feel safe there"!!!

Wi-fi did not work in the rooms but did work in the courtyard albeit a bit slow. There are restaurants - you can eat at the hotel, one is nearby towards the main road and some local no frills places on the main road. It is easy to find a taxi on the main road. It is a not too far walk to go to Fadiouth Island

Unprofessional and having no knowledge of hospitality. WiFi is very weak and cleanliness isn't up to standard. I dnt blv the other reviews are legit The attitude of the young man who was helping me is unacceptable. If you don't understand French, don't attempt going there unless u wana test your adrenaline.
