Truly recommend this hotel! I was traveling with my kids and we all loved the spacious room - or actually a two bedroom apartment with a balcony. Everything very clean, quiet and felt like home. Thank you so much for a very nice stay!

We got a complimentary room upgrade to a lake view room. Very comfortable beds and spotlessly clean room. Breakfast was fine and always a nice amenity to start the day. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

I loved that the historic quality of the Inn was preserved and that it had not been renovated to death. Its antique charms were well preserved and that’s what I loved best. The creaking floors, the dark hallways with nooks and crannies, the wonderful antiques. Please don’t change!

Good breakfast--a huge variety of milks. Charming and whimsical decor throughout based on mid-century modern (ie. marimekko comforters and vintage-style refrigerator and microwave.). Dog-Friendly: doormats with dog themes. Very attractive and clever transformation of this motel which we remember from 60 years ago. Enjoyed talking with manager.

I love Great Barrington!

I love Great Barrington! I go there mainly to hike nearby, primarily at Bartholomew's Cobble, which I visit every spring to see spring ephemerals and other wildflowers, and the Cary Institute, which is about an hour away. I'm slowly discovering other great nature sites nearby, too, like Jug End. And I also love the town. It's just pleasant to stroll around, and to peruse the fun shops. My favorite shops are Sett and One Mercantile. Eating is also great here! This time I asked for locals to recommend restaurants, and found some great new places! I particularly enjoyed: - Agaves for Mexican (so fresh; best salsa I have ever had) -Cafe Adam for a delicious high-end meal (I sneaked in without a reservation, but that was pure luck). -Barrington Brewery for dessert (yes, a brewery for dessert!), where I had their delicious fruit crisp (though the pies looked amazing too and earlier in the day I might have tried the chocolate cake). - Marketplace kitchen for breakfast - great coffee, traditional breakfast choices as well as slightly more creative choices, and delicious options for getting your egg dish over greens in a bowl, if you like. Great vibe and well-lit, spacious place, too, if you want to linger with a friend or your laptop.

This is a quiet corner of the Berkshires.

This is a quiet corner of the Berkshires. If you like quiet roads, and good, uncrowded options for walking and hiking, it could be for you. Note: there are only a couple of options for dining in the area. And one of them is only open weekends. You will have to drive about 30 miles to Sheffield or Great Barrington for gas, a major drugstore, etc. Totally surprised there's not a better general store in the area. And swimming options are limited.

We stayed in Great Barrington to attend a performance at the Mahaiwe. It was leaf-peeping season, so we stayed two nights. It was a pleasure to drive around the countryside. We had breakfast both days at Marketplace Kitchen Table, right across the street from our motel. On Saturday evening we ate at The Well. The food and service are great, but there can be a wait to eat indoors.

We were there for a performance at the Mahaiwe.

We were there for a performance at the Mahaiwe. That was great, but there are other attractions, including a variety of restaurants, the Housatonic River Walk, the Guthrie Center and the W. E. B. Du Bois center.
