The Sally Webster Inn is a genuinely unique hotel. Combining the homely features of a B&B with modern touches that make for a seamless stay, we never saw a member of staff 'in real life', and yet felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout. How does that work, I hear you ask... prior to arriving, we received a text message from the proprietor with a code for the front door and our room - we then place our breakfast requests on a card outside the door, which are then left outside the room the following morning. In a post-COVID world, I sense this may be the approach many independent hotels take and even though it was new to us, we adapted quickly. The Inn itself, and our room, were both decorated beautifully, the facilities were excellent and the bed huge and comfortable. This was a holiday with multiple stops in hotels of varying kinds, and the Sally Webster Inn stands out as the most unique experience we had. Thank you guys!

Cape Ann Motor Inn was a very nice surprise on our road trip! Location is fabulous! We got to see a beautiful beach sunrise and sunset and a lovely moonrise! We couldn’t have asked for more! Complimentary breakfast was nice and cozy! We traveled with our 5 month baby and our stay was just perfect. The lady in the reception even lent us a screwdriver to replace the batteries of our son’s music device! Beds were comfortable and the rooms were warm (it was cold outside). The balcony though shared is lovely!

Full disclosure - wanted to see the origin story for The Perfect Storm. But more importantly, visit one of the most storied seafaring locations in American history. Oh, and the seafood wasn't bad either. It was fantastic! Ate at multiple local restaurants and the food did not disappoint anywhere. Check out Blue Collar Lobster, Seaport Grille and the Lobster of Gloucester. Highly recommend taking a whale watching tour. 7 Seas Whale Watch was amazing as we saw multiple breaches and a calf playing around the vessel. If interested in conservation, Ocean Alliance will give you a short tour and background about what they do. Wonderful organization. Gloucester is a true gem. Multiple spots to sit and watch the Atlantic as well as a promenade of the inner harbor. The Fisherman's Memorial with the list of names of those lost at sea is a powerfully moving monument. It brings to sharp focus the cost paid by those who worked the seas and helped make Gloucester what it is today.

Ac was broken from the start, every night was miserable hot,( 81,84,80 degrees)in the house. No one fixed it nor compensated us. I actually waited a few months to see if they would but no. I will not recommend nor will I give a good rating to the service it was listed with and the owner ,who lives onsite

I found Rockport very quaint and scenic. I was a visiting Gloucester for work, but added an extra night in Rockport on my own. If visiting Gloucester again, I would stay in Rockport the whole time. It's only 10 or 15 minutes away by car. Bearskin Neck is very touristy in the best way. Very charming and welcoming. Very quaint shops and cottages. Friendly people in the shops and restaurants and very friendly locals, too. Swimming was restricted at Front Beach because of high bacteria in the water, but it was too cool in June for swimming, anyway. A local woman recommended a short hike to the Headlands where I found a rocky outcrop with an amazing view and did some reading for an hour. The village is very walkable. Definitely would visit again.

Essex is a small town with a causeway with a boat marina along the Essex River. There are many antique stores, several excellent restaurants with a nice variety of menus, a brewery, and a variety of shops with local artisans wares. There is also a Ship Building Museum, Essex River Cruises, kayaking rentals, historic buildings ( the Congregational church has a Paul Revere Bell) and old graveyard. It is a interesting town to visit.

I LOVE this little town.

I LOVE this little town. Great food, great sites and just a calm and laid-back vibe. A great get-away from the hustle and bustle of the city and a lot of little hidden shops and art. LOVED Kings Roast Beef Pizza and Seafood which is right across from Walgreens in town. Didn't look like much but the food was SO good. Also had pizza at Leonardo's which was really good as well. We ate lobster at the Causeway Restaurant which was also really good. Twin lobsters for $50 and fried clams were amazing as well.

We were in Rockport for a family reunion I choose the Rockport Inn and Suites for many others in the family and they all enjoyed their stay. They offered us the breakast area to hold our meeting and do registration. Most of our activities were in nearby towns Essex & Beverly where we visited many historic sites rather exhausting by days end. I wish I had spent more time just wondering around Rockport itself I had no idea it was so quaint and cozy feeling. I happen to slip out for a sandwich around 7pm on a week day and because it was rain earlier the village was empty largely deserted so I putted around Bearskin neck without any traffic to speak of getting some nice photographs in the afternoon light and seeing places I'd like to stop in the next time I am there.
