Everything was delightful and decorated for Christmas. Location was convenient to the electric buses which were a bonus. Felt the food service could have been better and it would have been nice to have breakfast included in our stay. Had lobster bisque one evening and was ill the next two days with gastro issues. Not sure if it was food poisoning but I had all the symptoms. We ESPECIALLY enjoyed the Haunted 311 Room tour given by John who is a talented actor.

Very pet friendly. Comfortable beds Dinner menu superb. Bathrooms exceptionally. Friendly Staff. The only thing I have to say is that the parking costs of $18 was out of range. I parked my own car which was only a few yards away from the entrance. The cost percentage compared to room cost is not in line with the hotels I usually stay in. I staid in the hotel In Dec and returned in Jan and was charged a pet fee the second time and parking, which I parked myself and got my own luguage,

Wonderful location within walking distance Main St, Market St, Station St, Chattanooga Choo Choo etc. Extremely close to Ruby Falls. The bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel. The shower was very relaxing as well! Friendly & accommodating staff. Lobby was beautifully decorated for Christmas! Valet service was wonderful and friendly as well. We visited with the intention of exploring the area within walking distance BUT you could honestly visit The Chattanoogan Hotel and never have to leave the property with so many options on site!

The hotel is well located in the city. It attracted me because of the quirky and unique design. I’m often in chain hotels which are intentionally very predictable. This is in a completely different league. It’s half museum-half hotel in so far as all the decor is unique. Every room has a different theme. All the public areas have a different theme. It’s quite whimsical and busy. Every nook has a different curio so you can’t assume anything in the visual palate. It was a bit of a treat to experience and the price was mid range for the area.

Chattanooga was one of our favorite stops.

Chattanooga was one of our favorite stops. I would have been glad to stay an additional day, to explore even more. Chattanooga seems to have everything one could want, from a great urban artsy district to a variety store on a riverboat to a wonderful older thrift shop in a more industrial part of town. We had a wonderful meal at Sugar's and loved feeding the goats. The riverfront was a great place to walk and explore. We visited several cities in Tennessee, during our weeklong road trip. Chattanooga was one of our top favorites.

Getting around Hixson is very easy, as far as road...

Getting around Hixson is very easy, as far as road accessibility, but the GPS seems to go off just a little bit every now and again. But the re-routing was not bad and it was easy to get back on the right track. I was here for a specific event and didn't do any outside touring, but it is so close to Chattanooga and there is a lot to do there.

The long, winding drive up puts you in a different part of the world with great views and its own little community of restaurants. Enjoyed our stay, the sunsets, the birds and meals at local places like Massey's Kitchen and Lalito's Mexican.

Our issue was mostly with our GPS not matching up with the actual directions. Chattanooga is a great place to visit. We loved all of the downtown shops and sights. Everything is very pricey though. Do not recommend the Incline Railroad for the faint of heart. It's a little (a lot) unnerving if you have an issue with heights. The souvenir shops are ridiculously priced. The prices inside the zoo were outrageous; $20 for a simple burger, $8 for an icee. Eat before you go and bring a couple of bottles of water. None of the smaller concessions carts were open along the route. The splash pad at Coolidge Park was a hit as well as the carousel. Vast open fields to run off the kiddie energy and a great view of the river.

We really didn't see much of Hixson - we got to the motel...

We really didn't see much of Hixson - we got to the motel after dark and left as soon as we packed up and ate breakfast. If travelers want to be close to the sights in Chattanooga, they might consider a motel closer in to Chattanooga.

Lots to do in Chattanooga and the surrounding area. Free downtown shuttle bus a great plus. Pity the Walnut street bridge was closed for renovations. We went to Rock City Gardens upon recommendation, but to be honest, it was a bit like a theme park - with very strict areas you could walk through the rocks. It was good, but rather over egged if I am honest. The best bit was the view from Lovers Leap, but I think there were more natural hikes with views just as beautiful - and free!

It was good for a weekend getaway.

It was good for a weekend getaway. We did have a few complaints for small issues. When we got checked-in we had requested bedding for the pull out sofa and never got any. Then when we went to unpack we noticed a dark dirt spot on the fitted sheet. Room service was still on the floor across the hall and we asked if they could change the sheets while we went out. The stains where still there when we came back and the only thing we got was a flat sheet sat on the sofa when we got back. Then when we took the kids to the pool there where no pool towels. When we asked for towels they told us we would have to wait cause they were all in the laundry.
