The room was absolutely lovely, I really enjoyed it. Outside was nice, although I was limited to any outdoor activity because it had just snowed and I was also the only one staying there that night, so no bonfire. The lodge is close to Hancock and Deposit, which are nice towns with a few places to eat and food shop, but more than that in the immediate area you won’t really find. Not that it’s necessary if you’re just looking to get away! I really could have spent the entire time in the room and I’d have had everything I needed. Also met the manager, Jose, who was very nice and made himself available if I’d needed anything. It’s a long drive for me, but I’d definitely go back!

Pretty quiet location with Maccys and Pizza Hut across the road. Price Chopper behind is very convenient, too. Staff is always lovely and a good laugh, always happy to help and very down to earth. Spacious rooms with good sized fridge freezer, microwave and small coffee machine. Desk is great for laptop and note taking, or even just puzzle books. Heating worked a treat.

We stayed here whilst away skiing at Belleayre for the weekend. The cabin was beautiful decorated and filled with everything you would need from a fully equipped kitchen, to games and even a candle to make the place cozy at night. You check yourselves in, but the owners were super friendly and checked we had everything we needed. We look forward to our return visit in March.

Hancock is in the heart of the Catskills and I pass right by Green Acres Motel on Rt. 17 when I travel to Syracuse and beyond, which is relatively often. Several times I have broken up my trip by staying at Green Acres for an overnight. I love the convenience of self-check-in and out, and the rooms are perfect for what I need which is a mini kitchen area with all the accoutrements for microwaving and refrigerating, tableware, coffee (love the Keurig and the coffee pods you provide). , a comfortable bed (extremely comfortable). The rooms are clean and wonderfully decorated. You don't feel like you're in a motel because each room is decorated differently with great color and thought. My only issue is that twice I've been the only person in the parking lot which leaves me to assume I was the only one staying there at the time. If I thought about it too much, I'd creep myself out because NO ONE else is there. Not a soul in sight. I frequently wonder about the security of the place and how that is monitored while guests are staying there. It's not at all obvious except I think I see some cameras. It hasn't stopped me from staying there but I think more and more about it each time I stay. Would love to understand this better, esp since I'm a single woman traveling alone. Nothing has ever happened and when I have texted the number given, I have always gotten an immediate reply. The area is very safe but you never know.....

I liked that there were stores and restaurants near.

I liked that there were stores and restaurants near. I hate that we had to sleep in separate beds because we did not get the king room we reserved and did not get confinsated. I hate that we had to walk all the way to the end of the hall to get in or out because the doors were exit only except the lobby.Should have key card door locks for getting back in; so you don't have to walk so far. I hate that the pipe under the sink leaked and I had to put a trash can under it to catch the water. And I had to keep emptying the can. I hate that we were ankle deep in nasty water while we showered because it drained so slowly.

As a rural western Catskill town, Stamford has gone through being a vacation boom town when the railway brought people up from the city at the turn of the last century.. to a rural, weekend getaway destination. We weren't able to try the cafes in town because of our arrival and departure timing.... strongly recommend that you call ahead to any restaurant to make sure they are open. The area feels like a bicyclists dream with miles of country roads, but maybe not for family biking on the roads. Roxbury & Stamford have very active Arts organizations with many different types of programs and events worth checking out.

Beautiful area and great local restaurant (Chappies) and coffee at Watersheds. Roxbury quirky but basic facilities. Cycling from cycle outlet in Stamford was great way to see countryside and wildlife - we got lucky and saw a pair of Golden Eagles! 🦅

Breakfast was a joke.

Breakfast was a joke. I don't think poor quality orange juice and 2 types of granola bars with nuts and an old toaster with nothing to toast qualifies as breakfast. Othere places I have stayed at have fresh fruit, pastries, toastable items, i.e. bread, english muffines, waffles, yogurt...

after having a real lunatic (maybe drugged and/or drugged) come to the room adjoining mine at 3 a.m. yelling and cursing and throwing things against the walls..... I NEVER got a response for the management. Ignored my texts and calls totally. So don't expect help from them if you should need it.
