We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The location is excellent, with a lovely view of the river that added to the charm of our visit. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, with tasteful decor throughout. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated, making it a relaxing retreat. The breakfast was also a highlight, offering a great variety of delicious options. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and highly recommend this hotel to others!

The room is cozy and comfortable with nice design. We read the comment not having facilities at the place, but we were here for a night and sleep, so it wasn't an issue for us. The staff was responsive in the booking app when we had issues. The lighting in room is good too. We enjoyed the stay.

Everything about this weekend get away was perfect for my girlfriend and I. It was her childhood vacation destination so the nostalgia for her was comforting while the beautiful scenery and quiet countryside nature cascaded with snow was so relaxing. The old timey atmosphere reminded me of my grandparents house which was also incredibly nice. Hiking trails and skis for outdoor activities while there’s snow on the ground. Many others during the warmer months. A lot of families with kids! It was cute to see them all having fun. Bowling, game room, ping pong, and great jukebox across the way all super fun. Gift shop was affordable and so many options! Overall 10/10 experience.

For a budget motel, the owners could not do more to make their guests’ stay very pleasant. From checking in, to departure they were working non stop to make our stay a good one. Clean rooms, lots of good facilities. We felt safe, and were very well positioned to visit many destinations. We would not hesitate to recommend or to return.

The location is superb. The grounds have thoughtfully placed seating. The complimentary tea and coffee is great. The room was attractive and the bed very comfortable. The owner told us how to behave if we came across a bear when we were out walking.

For the area, the best pricing I could find. By no means is it a five-star place, but it's a motel from the 60's. A good time was had, and the room didn't hinder our trip. I would visit again.

Mountain view and clean room.

Mountain view and clean room. Did not like the male manager. Did not like the breakfast. Cereal was not in a sealed container so it was soggy and steal. You served bagels and toaster did not work enough to even melt the hard butter. Had boiled eggs was the only choice. Biker chapter set up a tent on the mountain view side and was very loud and no one else could enjoy the back patio. The 13 to 14 bikers parked under the awning all day and night so that you couldn't park to unload or even walk up the front steps. We had to go around to the handicap walkway.

Catskill is a town, which we didn't visit this time, but it is also the Mountains. We used to live in the area for the summers from 1985 - 95, so we know it well. We visited the site of the old Catskill Mountain House, and also the Kaaterskill Falls Observation deck, which was wonderful on this beutiful spring day. Also visited the Storm King Art Center on the way up, which was also wonderful.

Cozy & friendly town with everything you need nearby.

Cozy & friendly town with everything you need nearby. There’s even a lovely wine & spirits store down the way. The winery is only open on weekends and with late hours- not conducive to Friday 11AM checkout times. Also, beware of the 55 MPH maximum speed limit with frequent speed traps & State Troopers fishing for tourists to ticket. They ask you a TON of questions (where you’re staying, where you’re headed, etc.) & then ticket you. That part is rather unpleasant.

I love the vibe - mom & pop style shops and fun restaurants. It's kind of a small downtown but worth a visit. I found good lodging at Jessie's not far from there on Main Street and had lunch at Selena's diner where the food was delicious and plentiful.

Pool was out of service it was cold and the thermostat was not working the male receptionist was very rude. My door was broken and made a lot of noise. Had someone complain about my door making too much noise told reception that my door was broken he did not care told me to go to bed at 11 so I don’t have to keep coming in and out my room, which was ridiculous. Should’ve put me in a room with a door that wasn’t broken. I will not go to this place again.

It is more like a village than a town.

It is more like a village than a town. I stayed there while visiting family in the area. The town is worth a short visit or a good place to stay if you are exploring the area and want a base to stay. There are some nice resturants in town and a nice small river side park. There really is nothing to do in the town itself. The bottomline is, if you passing by and not in a rush, take a look or need a place to spend the night, it is worth the visit.

This area is gorgeous in the summertime.

This area is gorgeous in the summertime. Our host told us that during the week is best because people usually throng the area on the weekends, starting with Thursday. There are so many stunning views. There are many beautiful homes, and a number that are abandoned - which is sad to see. This area is nestled between Hunter and Windham mountains, so you can get your ski on in multiple places within a short driving distance.

From what we explored, Lanesville is a small town that probably thrives during the winter season. There are several nice restaurants. It would be helpful to understand the closest supermarket and shopping area for our next visit.

The drive up to the motel and parking area was rather steep & icy. You should have warned that a 4-wheel drive vehicle was necessary. We ended up having to spend $250 for chains to get our vehicle up, to our room. Additionally, we were unpleasantly surprise by the $60 additional fee for cleaning. Our room only had 3 bath towels for the 4 of us, and no one came to clean, take garbage out or make the beds during the 3 days we were there.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and smelled fresh. It was a great price, but this is a no frills kind of place. Everything including beds, pillows, linens, fixtures and appliances are dated. I would recommend this place if you are not too fussy about amenities and quality of the bedding, etc.
