It’s a very busy hotel.

It’s a very busy hotel. Many airline pilots as well as group functions. The hotel is kept immaculate inside and out. Use Booking.com for reservations for better rates. Hilton Honors Membership needs an overhaul. Booking.com I learned is A MUST USE!!!

Ms Krystal Perez at the reception desk literally forced us to move out, because she "didn't see the booking for the next day in the system". Of course I've showed her all the confirmations. So we checked out at 12 and checked in at 5pm at the same day.

I was denied access to my room!

I was denied access to my room! They would only accept ID from Janet Foster, my wife, who was not present. Janet is listed in contact of Booking.com, but I booked under GREG FOSTER , of which I have confirmation from Booking.com. as " Guest name". When I persisted, they threatened to call the police?? I previously requested an early checking -in, which they could not accommodate. OK., no problem. My schedule then required a late check- in which I had pre-arranged at the front desk in person that same day. Information never got relayed on shift change, even though they physically wrote my name down, GREG FOSTER. I requested to speak to a manager but was told they were not available. After disappearing for a while the attendant appeared with a room key for me without further explanation. It should be noted this took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. so i really had few other lodging options. I'm a Sixty- eight year old world traveler and this one of the most puzzling circumstances I have ever experienced. Also , no coffee maker or any kitchenware as advertised. Rarely write negative reviews, but...... Greg Foster

We really enjoyed our stay at the Element Wood-Ridge.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Element Wood-Ridge. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the accommodations were excellent! If we had planned a longer stay we could have easily cooked meals. The room even had a dishwasher! :) The built-in bottles of shampoo and body wash in the shower were a plus. The pool is a little small, but if you go early in the morning you'll have it all to yourself. The staff we met were friendly and accommodating. We were in town for a concert at MetLife Stadium. This hotel is a great location for proximity to the stadium and the AMAZING American Dream mall!! The other reviews mentioning the Club on the top floor and the parking issues are accurate. If you go out at night, especially on a Saturday, expect to park at the Wendy's next door. The staff did give us this information at check-in, so I don't think anyone should be that surprised that the parking can be a problem. Visit the Mall, take an Uber to the stadium, skip eating at the Concourse Club (not impressed)- Wendy's is right next door and White Castle is a short walk.

Great town.

Great town. We made the right decision choosing to stay in Kearny. Family oriented neighborhood and well kept homes. Felt a bit secluded from the industrial areas near by. Plenty of restaurants and stores near by, to choose from.

If you want to stay at a cold semi clean apt with a rude host this is the place for you. First off be prepared for a work out as the steps leading up to the place are killer. Secondly, going in it was fairly clean however the floor had hair and some dirt so I had to sweep the floor. Be sure to wear socks/ slippers ,otherwise your feet will be black on the bottom. The bathroom was ok, the shower floor was disgusting, had to lay a towel down. The bed rooms were dusty and sheets had a few stains. Thank goodness I brought my own set to sleep on. There are also no curtains which I believe also contributed to the overall cold apartment as well as the rude comments from the host. The place was freezing. I turned the thermostat on high and it was still very very cold even after hours of having it on. I kindly messaged the host asked the if this was normal for this place and if so is there another way to heat the apartment quicker. He then replied, “ There are 2 different heating sources up there. Gas and electric and no one all winter has said it's cold and it's been much colder than this weekend.” EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNACCEPTABLE. Mind you it was snowing/ freezing rain and 25-30mph winds all weekend. I didn’t know it could get colder than that but apparently so. Either way no one else was in the apartment but me and it was COLD TO ME. Overall one star for distance. Zero for the host. Would not recommend or return ever.

I didn't spend much time in East Rutherford, other than driving to the hotel and leaving. We came primarily to enjoy NYC. The location, for me, was ideal. However, many of the roads have a median or barrier so you have to take a rather large loop to get out of the city once you are there. Traffic can be a bit hectic, but that's to be expected for a more metropolitan area. All in all, I enjoyed how close we were to our destination.
