We were absolutely surprised how much we loved this hotel stay! We picked it based off the ratings and I’m glad we did. My other family stayed somewhere else and we’re unhappy. Their breakfast here is AMAZING. It’s SUPER clean. The staff is SO wonderful and helpful. We didn’t have ANY complaints. The pool is a tad on the smaller side and it’s freezing cold-BUT, it was over 100 degrees outside so it wasn’t too bad. The beds were average in comfort but the rooms and the setup were very cool. We would highly recommend a stay here and we will stay again!

Mount Shasta City is quite an interesting town, full of charm and character. Plenty of shopping and dining in town if that suits you. Some very good restaurants so I've been told. My husband and I go there to get up on Mount Shasta itself. The big, beautiful, soulful volcanic mountain that sits in the towns back yard. We see it every day from where we live, but there is nothing like driving up as far as you care to go and have an adventure, be it camping, hiking, stargazing, meditating, summiting the peak. We have yet to camp there or summit the peak (not some random thing you just decide to do, takes a lot of prep for that), but all of the time we spend on Mount Shastas flanks is revitalizing to our spirits/hearts. Also, down in the city park, at the north end of town are the headwaters of the Sacramento River. Super pure drinkable water and also a sacred place to the indigenous peoples of the area. You are literally drinking ancient glacial water. We were there just before the Fourth of July, this time, so pretty busy down in town. It's a fun/spiritual place to soak in.

Weed is a gateway town for recreation at Mt Shasta, its just a few miles North of Mt Shasta and has good roadway connections. It has all the services you need including a unique rib joint. The lodging options are a bit less expensive than Mt Shasta and the area has commanding views of Mt Shasta.

If you’re there for fishing, you have the bait shop just a few blocks down and a river you can walk to in a few minutes. There’s a coffee shack half a block away that also serves breakfast (avocado toast, yogurt and a few other items. There are other restaurants within a short walking distance as well. I would definitely stay there again.

It was very quaint and not much distractions. it was genuinely a historic building with much character and peaceful feel. No TV, but connections to for all equipment you need to bring. They served a very good breakfast but dinner was not available daily - so plan your meals! No elevators available, so if you are staying upstairs make sure you will be able to carry your suitcases up yourselves.

Mt Shasta is beautiful for its hikes, clear skies and delicious water. It is a small and cozy little town. The people are friendly. There are nice hikes from easy to challenging so perfect for getting out and enjoying the outdoors or just find a quiet place to relax and read a book. Getting around town is walkable. Places to eat: Lunch at Yak/Drizzle, Dinner at Pipline, Breakfast at Theory (good coffee). Favorite place - walk around the Lake or super easy fast walk around the local park at the end of town.

Very convenient place to stay to visit all the waterfalls at Burney, McCloud, Dunsmuir. Highly recommend to drive up to Panther Meadow for Mt Shasta Old Ski Bowl view. If into hiking, should hike Castle Dome trail at Castle Crags State park. It is gorgeous up there. Heart trail off Castle Lake is a must as well. Best to hike early morning to avoid the hot sun since both trails are full exposed at the end.

We had zero expectations of the town of Mount Shasta and were completely charmed! The food was great, the vibe was friendly with so much pride for the beautiful area. We walked all over, chatted with a lot of locals, and were sorry to be leaving so soon. Mount Shasta the actual mountain is spectacular. You can see it in photos, but it's nothing like staring up at its massive splendor. And then you learn the lore of the place, and it just makes it better.
