Ordered the breakfast hamper - which was really cute! Our rooms were beautifully decorated and large. Particularly enjoyed the claw footed bath! Hosts were friendly and helpful. The smores around the campfire were also a highlight. Would definitely recommend! Short walk to a local general store and a couple of restaurants near by if you don't want to head into town

We had an absolutely amazing stay at VOCO Saranac Lake! For our anniversary, the hotel surprised us with upgrade to a beautiful suite with breathtaking views of the lake. Waiting in the room were champagne, chocolates, and a warm handwritten note from the staff — such a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly special. The entire team was incredibly kind, attentive, and caring throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!

My wife and I went to the Whiteface Lodge for our mini-moon, right after our wedding in November. Our stay was incredible - the room size was massive, and the bed and living area were very comfortable and well appointed. The guest facilities were amazing (including a small gym and game room, hot-tub and indoor pool), and the food at the restaurants was delicious. We really enjoyed the included breakfast every morning, and the complimentary cookies! We went during the off season so it was extremely quiet and peaceful during our trip, which we really appreciated and needed. Will be going back again!

We are active retirees and spent most of our time hiking/...

We are active retirees and spent most of our time hiking/ biking in the area with enough time to check out some of the shops in town. If you enjoy nature check out the Adirondack Rail Trail or some of the many hiking trails in the area. Players waterfront eatery is a great spot for a bite to eat or cocktails with an excellent view of Mirror Lake.

My partner and I have been going to Lake Saranac for our...

My partner and I have been going to Lake Saranac for our semi-annual canoe camping trip for the past 5 or so years. We just celebrated our 10th anniversary this year. We fell in love with the adventure and solitude canoe camping can provide and this spot has served us very well. The people in town are always super friendly, the art scene is amazing with plenty of studios, galleries, and gift shops to visit. You can also just look around town and find murals, metal sculptures, and even take a ride on the Saranac Carousel! Or stop by the Loon Conservation shop and learn about these super cool birds, which we adore hearing when on the lake.

Wilmington, you go for a reason, not to wander, its not...

Wilmington, you go for a reason, not to wander, its not vegas, it is remote. Its close to Placid at a lower rate. Close to other locations like Whiteface Ski and vets memorial highway - rd to top of Whiteface mountain and weather station located on top. Chocolate shop just down the rd and Santa's work shop if you have kids along

Its a small town with one of everything - gas station,...

Its a small town with one of everything - gas station, restaurant, grocery store, bar etc. Everything is pricey with limited choices. There is nothing one can do here. Its just a place to stay. Some landmarks are close by. That's the best part.

There is no direct communication with the lodge.

There is no direct communication with the lodge. Everything is remote. There is no one to greet you, tell you about the resort or give you a key to your room. By remote communication they have removed the "hospitable" out of hospitality. This concept text messages you with your room number and the combination for your room. I was not informed about this at the time of my reservation. I HATE THIS CONCEPT!

It's a very pleasant village, with superb outdoor recreational activities right at hand. There's also live theater, an ALDI (yay!), good /interesting shops, a notable history. Traffic can be a little dense at times, but generally is OK. There's a good variety of restaurants. The Adirondacks overall is a magical, pristine and magnificent wonderland, so please don't visit (lol).

Wilmington is about 20 mins from Lake Placid and 30 from Saranac Lake, If you intend to be closer to the "action" in town (restaurants, shopping, attractions, etc), you may not want to stay so far out. If your main attraction is Whiteface, Wilmington probably fits the bill.

Lake Placid is great for those looking for a bit of American Olympic history. The town offers a nice selection of shops and restaurants as well as outdoor activities. A walkable town with plenty for all ages. It’s not fancy or super modern but that’s the charm! Well maintained and dedicated to giving tourists a great experience! Not everyone wants a high polished and sanitized experience…keep it real!

Saranac Lake is where i was born.

Saranac Lake is where i was born. Its been a long time since I was back. There was alot of people in this small town . Things have changed alot . People were a bit rude in town . We had a nice dinner at Red Fox. It was a bit pricey but the meal was great.

Our family of six had a wonderful five-day stay at this cozy Wilmington cabin, which offered the perfect balance of quiet relaxation and incredible convenience. Being just four minutes from Whiteface Mountain made our ski trips effortless, and we were so impressed by how quickly the property was cleared and maintained when it snowed. It was a warm, well-kept retreat that fit our large group perfectly—we can’t wait to come back!
