The rooms are pleasant, clean and comfortable.
I am an extremely picky eater, so I found the restaurant's limited dinner menu a bit of a challenge at first. But after making a small change to one of the dishes, I enjoyed a truly delicious dinner.
The breakfast menu contained the typical options; I recommend the eggs benedict.

The Superior King or Twin Room (the one with a sea and mountain view) provided a pleasent experience. The view, showcasing Chapman's Peak from Hout Bay, was amazing and could be enjoyed right from the bed. The staff were exceptionally cordial and kind, adding to the pleasant stay. While the quiet hours might be important to note before booking, they didn't pose an issue for us. The cleanliness and comfort of the place were great, and the pictures accurately depicted reality, making them reliable for future guests to rely on.

Really nice accommodation with a fantastic view. Danie and Janni are the most welcoming and helpful hosts. They make you feel instantly at home and will do everything they can to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible – AND they make the most delicious breakfast!! We have stayed at other places in Hout Bay but this is definitely our favorite which is why we now keep coming back.

This place was amazing and the hosts went above and beyond. Breakfast was delicous and everything was super clean. Secure parking and we liked their location as you can get to most places in 20-30 minutes (beautiful beaches, scenic roads, hiking trails, climbing, good restaurants, wineries, table national park, etc.).

It's a charming manor with a lot of original features preserved. We checked in early evening and were welcomed with a zucchini dish to snack on while having our drink at the bar. A nice touch. Staff are super friendly. Breakfast was nice with enough options to choose from on the hot menu.

Ivanka and her team are wonderful! The view from our room was incredible and breakfast in the morning was a delight. It was evident that the staff pays attention to all the details to make sure the room was clean and well stocked to make guests feel comfortable and welcome.

Short walk to walking trails thru vineyards. Excellent hostess who went out of her way to accommodate our arrival and departure times. Good location for touring vineyards or Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.

This place is just the worst.
This place is just the worst. Pics on the site is deceiving.... Not what I expected....i want my money back... I did not stay at this place... I don't know if this people expected animals would come and stay for the weekend.... If I stay away for a weekend, I expect it to home away from home... I was just not happy.... Broken tiles, broken door handles, dirty shower, cockroaches running on the table.... I'm so so disappointed in this place... Hideaway will never see me ever.

The Houtbay harbour is definetly something for any traveller to experience.
World of birds was a great outing our 2 year old thoroughly enjoyed it.
The fish market had the freshest fish too with great variety.

The staff is very welcoming, friendly and very diligent in their work. The place is a dream really, the views of the mountains are majestic. Rooms very comfortable and very clean every day. The food was delicious. It's so quiet and peaceful you would think you the only guest. There is an additional games room to use which is very elegantly decorated. Kudos to all staff and the owner.

Fake pictures and place in very poor condition. No Covid 19 protocols and blatant disregard for regulations.
Poor parking. Should have a shuttle for elderly. This neighborhood takes law in own hands and use parking shortage to keep their beach off limits.

Quiet nice town. We ate at a seaside tourist restaurant. It had great fresh fish and we could walk there on the beach.
The least favorite was the haggling and begging at the docks before and after the seal boat ride. This town was our first stop in South Africa and it really represented the divide between wealth and poor.
I think to get around you will have to have a rental car.
definitly drive part way up the cliff drive, the sceanery and plant life was very interesting.
