Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe hotel is not modern so there are some traces of the history. Pillow covers weren't clean.
Quiet location. Nice welcoming and friendly staff. Car parking is available at the location, not free.

United KingdomRoom could have been cleaner (cobwebs in a couple of corners). Awful pillows (and only one each). Tram line was a bit close, so noisy in the morning.
Pleasant situation, about 1 km from the Cathedral Square. No coffee making facilities in the room, but a coffee machine was available downstairs (free to use). There was a nice seating area at the back of the hotel for coffee/ breakfast/enjoying the weather. Good breakfast.

SlovakiaThese are just very minor things / suggestions - the room on the top floor gets very hot, despite turning off the heating. Can't complain about it in winter though - it would be cool to have a coffee station in the room for people who don't like eating breakfast
- Great location. No street noise at night. I felt very safe in Erfurt and around the hotel area even walking at night - Close to the city center. About a 15 minute walk or a 5 minute tram ride - Tram station directly opposite to the hotel - Very comfortable bed and a spacious "living room" space in the suite - The room is clean - Lots of storage space for your clothes and belongings if you are staying for multiple nights and don't want to "live out of a suitcase" - Big shower - Fridge & complimentary mineral water - The staff were all very friendly and helpful - Overall it was a very nice experience and I would visit this hotel again

GermanyWifi was not working. If you are on a business trip its very bad to have no wifi as privided before. The bar could't provide any drinks because they had neither ice nore tonic water.
The room was very clean and comfortable. Very friendly staff. The location was ok for my purpose.

GermanyThe wi-fi wasn't working at first and on the second day, it worked but was very slow. If you need internet, you should have enough data for mobile hotspot.
The room was very nice, especially the bathroom. The table was big enough too to work on something. The bed was very comfortable.

IrelandThe single pillow I received was not very full. Otherwise everything was great. (The single bed was quite narrow but long enough so I didn't mind!)
Although somewhat outside the city centre, I liked the location of Hotel am Brühlerhöhe. It is close to a tram stop and was very quiet. I needed to leave early and did not take breakfast but the staff at reception explained to me the advantages of the €9 Ticket!!!

United StatesThe hotel was in a quiet neighborhood that was easily accessible to town via tram. The staff at the hotel were excellent, welcoming, and spoke English. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was an additional 14 euro per person. Would definitely stay there again if passing through.

GermanyThere were a few minor disturbances like the room was not cleaned at the check-in time due to some technical problem. There was a coffee machine, but no cup available. No bottle openers and two glass bottles of water. Since the reception was closed by 8 pm, it was not clear who we can ask for help. Also, I would not recommend ordering breakfast unless you don't have any other option, it's expensive for such limited food choices.
The employees were very friendly and nice, the room was spacious and quiet.

United StatesThe hotel is in a residential neighborhood far from anything remotely interesting. Got poor directions from the man at the desk for accessing old town. Though the hotel room was described as quite inviting in the Lonely Planet guidebook, it was ugly, with bland and cold furniture. We lasted two nights before finding another hotel.
The room was large. Hotel easily reachable via streetcar from old town. The woman who seems to be in charge is very nice. . Towel heating rack was great for drying clothes we hand washed.

FranceThe breakfast is too expensive and we chose not to have it. Also, the parking of the hotel costs 10 euros but there are cheaper parking spots for the night just up the street.
Spatious, clean room and friendly personnel, located 15 minutes away by walk from the city center.

NetherlandsVery comfortable single room, looked kind of a mini apartment as there was a desk plus sofa and table as a living room. Corner room with 2 windows facing the garden, very peaceful. Staff was very nice and provided me my own modem as the general wifi was not working on my devices (Thanks, Dominik!). Location is perfect, just 10min away walking to the Domplatz and close to the road leading outside of the city. Plenty of parking possibilities in the street (for free from 9pm to 9 am).
