Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

It was an amazing stay. Very authentic building with authentic, beautiful and cozy rooms. A true medieval stay. We went in the winter. Rugged and beautiful nature and surroundings, stepping out of our room we looked at the tall snow capped mountains.

United KingdomThe breakfast bar was well stocked but the presentation and selection did not match the high level of service they offer throughout their facility. We still enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was just lovely.
Pension Lectar is authentic and honours Slovene national heritage and culture. The rooms have beautiful furniture and combine antique feel with contemporary comfort. The owners and staff are simply lovely. They were accommodating, helpful and went above and beyond to make our time with them pleasant and memorable. Everyone we interacted with was warm, polite and exuded a positive vibe. The location is wonderful for the intimate, picturesque feel of Radovljica and close to Lake Bled and other attractive areas. We loved everything about our stay and would highly recommend their guesthouse as well the the wonderful restaurant.

United StatesParking directions were not very clear. We tried to use the map provided, and found the location was in the historic part of the town with portable blockades in place to prevent traffic from accessing the area. Our GPS took us in circles for a few minutes.
The pension was part of the gingerbread museum ( in cellar) and the food was superb.

IsraelThe parking is a bit distant, and you will have to carry your luggage about 70 meters from the old city gate to the hotel.
Located in the main square of the old city, making your experience nicer. The room was specious, the balcony is huge and actual the roof of the building looking all around it. the sitting spot on the balcony is nice and for smokers (not me) it's a bonus. The staff was nice and cooperative. The hotel is actually a floor above one of the main restaurants in the city so it you arrive hungry - don't worry, you have a good eating place right under your balcony...

United StatesThe parking arrangements are a bit challenging. Being in the historic part of town, Google maps is somewhat confused when finding the pension. Getting there was an adventure but we enjoyed the experience. kind of like going back in time.
The coffee maker was not working correctly so the staff was needed to make the coffee. I would rate the breakfast average however, the staff went above and beyond and the old city atmosphere is wonderful. Just a few buildings down was a free classical music concert...spectacular!

Belgiumthe breakfast is good but the space is too cramped to be comfortable
Lovely small hotel with peculiar decor and quite some history. The location seems to be an attraction in its own right so often very crowded with busloads full of tourists in front of the hotel and in the restaurant.

RomaniaThe owner was very kind and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, what we needed for 1 night stay. The guesthouse has also a restaurant with very good traditional food. I recommend the gibanica dessert - excellent taste, grandmother cooked like type. Great views from the terrace.

United StatesI don’t recall anything that gave pause. My room was up two sets of stairs and I didn’t see if there was a lift for those for whom that might be needed. Fine for me, walking was part of my reason for traveling as I did.
This was where I spent my first nights of my trip, my return to Slovenia after a few years. The little town was perfect for my purposes, the hotel is the opposite of corporate, my room overlooked their garden restaurant (also a good choice), the breakfast was excellent. Happy I’d chosen it as my base.
