It’s a real pain to get to the property, but it sure is worth it. It’s an amazing riad!

I booked this trip for my dad and my brother. They love it. The host is very kind and he treated them like family. The staff are also very nice and helpful. The Riad is clean and the rooms are spotless. I definitely recommend this place for people who are planning to visit Merzouga.

Although we stayed only one night at the hotel, we enjoyed it a lot. For us it was an exceptional, the best hotel experience we've had in Morocco, which was a positive surprise. Everything was just perfect, yet I'll try to make top 3 of the things that we liked the most: 1) Staff members. Everyone was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. And their genuine hospitality was really heartwarming. All the questions and requests we had were resolved easily and fast. We arrived at the hotel early in the morning, before the official check-in hours. Yet it was no problem at all! In 10 min our room was ready and we were having tea at the roof terrace, together with the guy from the reception, who also told us which tours we should take to explore around. Yet it was purely a recommendation and only a part of a good conversation, not the main focus at all. At night they also lighted the fireplace at the ground floor terrace, which was especially nice for winter time. We also asked for an early breakfast since we had to catch the bus next morning and they made it. The breakfast itself was amazing, with a self-made berber omelette (I guess), different kinds of bread and toppings. Everything warm and fresh. Felt like home💔 2) Rooms and the heating system. Since we travelled in December, temperatures at night dropped quite low, so that in almost every hotel it got very cold and air conditioners didn't help much. Yet here the air conditioning system was of a very good quality and by the time we came back, the room got truly warm! That was invaluable! 3) Location. Location was a particularly important criteria for us since we wanted to walk in desert on our own. Riad is in 7-10 min from the main road and maybe 15 min from the desert. We left the hotel at ~3 pm, enjoyed the sunset and came back around 7-8 pm. All in all, everyone who is planning to explore Sahara desert, this is the place you should choose. No hesitation!

Riad Madu is a fantastic place to relax after a hot day spent in the Sahara. The facilities are great, the swimming pool with the view of the sand dunes is amazing. Staff was polite and provided a good service. I would highly recommend to stay here.

Youssef has a rockstar reputation in travel guides such as lonely planet and he certainly didn’t disappoint. He is so kind and welcoming. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home. He gives great travel advice. We also book a trek in the desert through him, and it was perfect. You should 100% stay there !

A very warm welcome by the owner and staff made us feel at home instantly. The location just next to the sandy dunes is superb, and ideal for early morning or evening trips into the desert. We stayed for a week (in the tents) with a large & diverse group and all our needs were addressed and accommodated. An unforgettable and wonderful stay, I recommend riad berber!

We chose the hotel even though it didn’t have any reviews on Booking, and it turned out to be a wonderful surprise! We stayed for two nights, which I highly recommend so travelers can relax and enjoy the beauty of the place. The hotel is beautiful, full of details, very well maintained, with a garden filled with lanterns and a courtyard that invites you to unwind. The pool area is also incredible and offers direct access to the Sahara dunes! The room was very cozy, spotless, clean, and super comfortable. The hotel staff was also very attentive — even though we hadn’t booked lunch in advance, we were promptly served at the last minute with delicious food! We loved it!
