As a lover of history and the countryside, Domaine Airborne was a must visit location. Our host Charles was exceptional both as the host and as a knowledge guide for the surrounding areas. The Jeep tour was a fantastic way to immerse yourself fully in the history of the events surrounding D-Day as well as the history of Domaine Airborne itself. (I do recommend the D-Day experience at Dead Man's Corner before doing the Jeep tour) The accommodation is tastefully modernised and comfortable while keeping with the buildings 1940's style. As a whole, the experience was a 10/10, I will definitely be returning in the future.

Retour aux Sources is a B&B located in Gouberville, just 2 km from the sea. Super emplacement. Excellent déjeuner. tranquille. Belle grande chambre.

Laiterie de Tocqueville B&B is housed in a former factory in Tocqueville. It offers free WiFi access, a shared lounge with a TV and a guest room with a spa bath. We had just experienced a week near Arromanches for the 80th anniversary of D Day (which we knew was going to be quite frantic) and booked the second week looking for a more tranquil setting. We were not disappointed. The welcome here was exemplary by the hosts (both human and canine), the setting is exceptionally bucolic and yet one is only a matter of minutes from Barfleur and several other delightful Norman towns and villages, both coastal and inland. Local restaurants are pretty good although opening hours can be erratic and we can still hear the recurring theme of "La cuisine est fermée " ringing in our ears! However the culinary constant has to be the tremendous breakfasts lovingly prepared by Laurence, home made yoghourt and pastries as well as an amazing range of breads from the local boulangerie in Barfleur. We do not travel light and when we first arrived, La Laiterie was fully booked and our room was rather small. However after two nights, we were offered a different and much larger room which just put the cherry on the cake. The whole place is a little idiosyncratic and evidence of the building's industrial heritage abound. A huge thankyou to Laurence and Patrick for their professionalism and warm hospitality. This couple really understand their business and the industry in which they operate. We respect them enormously. Finally, the place is really run by Aslan who is a delightful elderly, but gentlemanly, dog whom our hosts had recued about 10 years ago wen he was a young adult. His calm and measured omnipresence just made our visit complete! We shall return!

Located in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, Domaine Utah Beach - Le Grand Hard is 5 km from Utah Beach and 40 km from Omaha Beach. It offers free Wi-Fi and a shared lounge with a fireplace. Great place to stay with lovely people

This 13th-century castle provides a B&B accommodation and is located in the countryside of Flottemanville. Guests can enjoy the garden and visit the domain. Picturesque venue close to key D-Day memorials. The host was very hospitable and friendly, while the surrounding territory was beautiful. Also, the breakfast was delicious and felt like at home.

Hôtel de la Marine features views of Carteret Port. It is just 10 metres from pier and offers a panoramic terrace. Free Wifi is provided throughout. Fantastic position, great rooms! Clean spacious and comfortable! Staff were amazing!!!

Aux XIII Arches is located in Portbail in the department of La Manche in lower-Normandy. It offers rooms, free Wi-Fi and free parking. All of the rooms are en suite and have TV. Beautiful location opposite the famous bridge, estuary and dunes. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Delicious food. Very well presented breakfasts.

Set in a verdant setting 400 metres from the sea, Hotel Jersey offers a garden, free Wi-Fi access throughout the property, and a buffet breakfast is available with a supplement. Exceptional host and hostess, so helpful and friendly. Dom, host, bought us out a coffee and madeleine as we waited at 5.00 am for our taxi ! Life saver. Lovely breakfast. First hotel with a good range of main stream English TV channels for a long time. Large room , very comfy
