Castiglione is 700 metres from Fuorlovado 40 and the Via Camerelle shopping street can be reached in 4 minutes on foot. The host, Antonio, was so kind and sweet and really went above and beyond to make our stay great. He met us in the main square and showed us to the accommodation, he gave us tips about places to eat and how to get around, and even brought us some locally made sweets one night for us to try. The accommodation was stylish and clean, and the free minibar that was restocked was an added bonus. The location was great, and easy enough to drag our suitcases to from the funicolare. We would definitely stay again, especially considering that it is such good value compared to other accommodation in Capri.

There is everything to like, but more specifically, the proprietor, Fabio, could not have been more helpful or friendlier. He spent 20 minutes with us as soon as we arrived, drawing on the map of Capri all the places we would want to visit in the two short days we had there. He also took us to his favourite sandwich shop and introduced us to the owner. The next day he pulled us out of the fire when we got stuck in the middle of a transit strike and couldn't get back to the hotel. There is also the location to recommend this lodging. it's smack in the middle of the town of Capri; enough said. The room was a bit small, but the bathroom was spacious and beautiful, and the view of the city and water from the balcony made the room feel larger.

A cable car stops approximately 500 metres away and links to Capri ferry harbour. The view from our balcony was spectacular, as was the daily breakfast brought to our room. The staff was super friendly and it was in a great location, close to the Piazza and lots of shops and restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again!

Guests can also relax in the shared lounge area. The host (Giovanni) was very friendly, and the accommodation was beautiful. Nice tiled floors, comfy bed, spacious bathroom, amazing views of the city centre/cliffs, and (in the common areas) the mountain and ocean. Each morning the breakfast spread was fantastic, including fresh fruits from his own gardens. To get here from the docks it’s either a huge wait in a queue for the bus, or a medium wait in the taxi line to drop us off at the alleyway, where a short walk is still required. It's about 10 minutes (downhill) back to the docks, and a ~20 minutes (uphill) walk to the city centre. Giovanni was also very helpful in arranging a taxi to pick us up and drive us back to the dock at check out.
