Offering a barbecue and ski storage space, AIBIYA is located in Yamanouchi in the Nagano Region, 4.1 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. We had a wonderful stay at Aibiya in July. The room is spacious and comfortable. The hosts are super nice and speak perfect English. They were very helpful recommending restaurants. The breakfast is very tasty. We got to taste their home made apple jam from locally grown apples. Yummy! We also tried the onsen at a hotel nearby. We walked to and from the Monkey Park. The hike up was warm, but still manageable. We found a hot footbath along the way in a neighbouring village.

There’s simply no words good enough to describe a little hidden gem like Raicho. Everything was perfect here. All the staffs speak perfect English and they would drive you from the bus station or to the dinner place whenever they are available. In Winter they are the only party that operates kamikochi tours which on a sunny day is a once in a life time experience. The outdoor onsen is amazing in the snow (dont get scared off from the cold). The fireplace is beyond amazing and all the people staying there are friendly, dormitory are surprisingly quiet at night and the beds are so comfy and warm. It almost felt like we were in Switzerland or something. Ten of of ten experience.

Located in Karuizawa, Kyukaruizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton is situated a 6-minute walk from Kyu Karuizawa Ginza Dori shopping street. Location is superb. The shuttle was really helpful. The service is impeccable. Breakfast was amazing.

Objekat ノマの森 Nomanomori B&B, koji je smešten u gradu Čino, u ponudi ima besplatan WiFi, a gostima su na raspolaganju vrt, terasa i bar. The hosts are kind and thoughtful and gave us very good advice for dinner locally and for our next destination. Best of all, the breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

Opened in August 2012, B&B Hotel Hyochoan offers simple Western-style accommodations. Free in-room WiFi is available and guests can enjoy bird watching from the property’s terrace. Very tranquil place to relax and enjoy the nature. The onsen and Harunire Terrace are not far from the B&B and easy to reach via walk or a short ride (the host could take you there in 5 minutes). The owners are kind and warm. Exceptional breakfast. Definitely will come back ^^

Exceptional accomodation offering comfort and exquisite cuisine right next to Togakushi Houkosha Shrine. The Hostess greeted us and gave us a tour of the expansive ryokan. Our tatami room was wide with a beautiful view of the yard. Our sumptuous dinner was beautifully presented in a dining room, there were 5 exquisite courses from fresh and delicious ingredients. Breakfast was wonderful as well. We had a wonderful and restful sleep on the tatami as rain drizzled throughout the night. The hostess gave us an early farewell as she had to attend a hospital appointment for her husband’s diagnosis. We wish her and her family well, and appreciation for their wonderful hospitality and exceptional meals. Highly recommended stay in Togakushi!

At Daymaruya Ryokan, guests can enjoy hot-spring baths and traditional Japanese-style accommodations with free wired internet access. Everything was perfect! The staff was incredibly kind, came to pick me up at the station and then offered to take me to the monkey park. The hotel was nice, clean and the indoors and outdoors baths were great. A very calm place. I totally would recommend!!

Located in the Shibu hot-spring district, guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths at Suminoyu. Massages can be requested and a footbath is also available for extra relaxation. The staff was very attentive and spoke good English as well. They explained about the facilities, the meals and about the neighbourhood and the sights. The onsen was amazing, great view from the outdoor pool and the temperature of it was also just right! The food was delicious and plated really beautifully.

A small 6-room inn with Ryokan meals and cosy interiors, Yasuragi is just a few minutes drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park and an 8-minute walk from Yudanaka Train Station. Hot-spring baths are featured.... Spacious and clean. We received a warm welcome! They have 2 onsens inside the lodging that you can use privately, which was great for us, being the first time we tried it! We loved the massage chair next to the bath :-) The owners drove us to/from the train station with our luggage, and to the monkey park, thanks! The rayokan dinner (at extra charge) was varied and delicious - but come very hungry! Very nice japanese breakfast as well. Small advice for visitors: 1. if you plan to visit the Shiga-Kogen nature reserve, go to the tourist information in Yudanaka first to understand the bus schedule and get maps/advice in english, inless you know japanese. 2. If you go to the monkey park, come back by foot on the other side of the river. Its a beautiful downhill walk through the woods and then the 4 villages.
