Housed in a Chinese courtyard-style mansion, The Blue Mansion offers boutique accommodation tastefully furnished with antique fittings. The accommodation itself is a tourist attraction with lots of photo opportunity. It's interesting to learn about the history of the mansion from the tour. We also enjoyed the guzheng music played by a solo artist in the courtyard on a Friday evening. Since it is located in the Unesco World Heritage Site, many historical significant attractions are within walking distance. The room is clean although it's slightly dim. We love having the breakfast in the courtyard and the food was good. This stay is highly recommended for a truly unique cultural experience.

Set in a restored private mansion, East Indies Mansion is located in the heart of UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town. Loved the location, close to beach street and little India. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. The room was very spacious with 4 double beds, more than enough for a family of 4. Even though its location, very central, the rooms are very quiet. I really love the friendliness of the staff. They gave lots of suggestions on where to go or where to eat. Loved the little local desserts every night brought to our room. Even though there are lots of plants around the mansion, there were no mosquitos. ( And I get bitten very easily). The check-in was also very fast. I would definitely return next time we visit George town.

The Millen Penang, Autograph Collection is in Georgetown, just 3 minutes' drive from the New Central Business District. It has spacious suites with free Wi-Fi. The design of the hotel, services, staff. Attention to details. Very friendly environment.

Noordin Mews is a boutique hotel housed in a historical building in central Penang. It offers an outdoor pool and provides free Wi-Fi throughout the building. This is a very cute property with heritage features and beautiful luxurious rooms. The staff are a delight and made everyday perfect.

Situated within the UNESCO World Heritage city of Georgetown, Coffee Atelier is a collection of 5 beautifully-restored shophouses dating back to 1927. Just perfect. From the rooms and the building to the location everything was amazing.

Campbell House is conveniently located a 5-minute drive from Penang Museum and is surrounded by a variety of local shopping and eating options. This is my second time staying at the Campbell House. The rooms are beautiful. The bed is comfy. The staff is very kind and helpful. The location can’t be beat!

Located in UNESCO World Heritage Site of George Town, Areca Hotel Penang offers accommodations in Penang. Guests can enjoy meals at the in-house restaurant. We had a wonderful experience at Areca. The pictures are true to the interior of the hotel. Room filled with older objects (wardrobe, chairs, lamp etc.) which give it a unique characteristic. The location is good walking distance from a lot of popular restaurants in Georgetown.

Located away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre, Lexis Suites Penang offers accommodations in the scenic Bayan Lepas. Probably the only place we stayed at in Malaysia that felt like a real hotel. The staff had immaculate manners and even prepared our early breakfast to take away at 5:30am due to our early flight. I didn't try their restaurants but I strongly recommend taking a little walk outside (if you can brave the traffic whizzing by you on narrow roads) and trying the local cuisine there. It was probably the best food we had on our trip to Malaysia! There is also an excellent Chinese place behind the restaurant - try the crab or the shrimp there and you'll be blown away.
