This property is basically a cluster of three houses, with the inn/bedrooms in a delightful, renovated traditional multi-story house, and the dining and reception space in the main house. The owner Miguel was born to be a host. He was quite literally one of the nicest and most outgoing person that I have met. The highlight of the stay is the evening meal, complete with reception, then communal dining with multi-course homemade cuisine and his estate wine. The meal was akin to a United Nations social, with Miguel happily chatting (in multiple languages) with the guests as he worked. One of the highlights of our trip to the Douro Valley.

The pool was sublime and breakfast was perfect. 2 days of peace and quiet. Amazing place!

Quinta de S.Bernardo - Winery & Farmhouse is offering accommodation in Mesão Frio. Among the various facilities are a garden, a terrace, as well as a shared lounge. The Quinta de S.Bernardo was an absolutely amazing experience. The hotel staff were extremely tentative, serviced-minded and friendly and the team really made us fell like we were home. The facilities were beautiful and the nature surrounding the hotel was breath-taking. The food was equally wonderful. We enjoyed the pool, but also that there were possibilities to do activities such as kayaking, biking, etc. Overall it was a excellent experience! We will be coming back :)

The views, the tranquillity and the pool were great. Angela’s hospitality was above every known standard. She invited us to stay and enjoy the pool till late afternoon on our checkout morning, she served us a try of cheeses and snacks with 2 glasses of wine to the pool area, and she gave my husband as a gift a book he started reading from the house library. The dinner Foni clocked us was amazing.

Everything was amazing. The host and staff are great. Very welcoming. The villa is beautiful, clean and maintained very well. We took our 6 month old on her first vacation in Portugal and we definitely recommend it! Rental car is not necessarily a must because they can provide transportation services, but it makes things a lot more accessible.
