We were delighted with our visit. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly. It was one of three onsens we visited, and I must say it was as good as the others, which were more expensive. Each accommodation at the 4-star ryokan has city views, and guests can enjoy access to a hot spring bath and a hot tub. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. As I didn't eat at the hotel, I cannot make any judgment about the food quality, but for me the access to several top onsen in the hotel, beside the several public ones in the town made my stay at the hotel very pleasant. One of them is even open all night long until 10AM. My traditional bedroom was also a strong point. At some point after I checked in, someone came and prepared my bed. The staff was very nice, and despite their limited English, made its utmost to serve me. The hotel is located within 5 minutes from a bus station, close to Awaraonsen and from which you can board a bus to Eihei-ji temple or Tojimbo in the other direction. If you wish to visit both places, you can buy a two day pass for this bus line.
