Stóra-Ásgeirsá Horse Farm Stay
An amazing experience. The geothermal water heated hot tub by the waterfall is a must, with gorgeous mountain views all around if you’re lucky enough with the weather. The rooms overlook the valley and mountains, and we had horses right in front of us until it was time to feed them, which we got a chance to do.
Aurora Igloo North
We stayed one night in June, so no stars or northern lights for us — just endless daylight pouring through the transparent dome at midnight. It was a unique and memorable experience in itself. The hosts clearly understand the conditions of the season, as they thoughtfully provided sleeping masks and earplugs to help with the constant light. This small detail made a big difference and was very much appreciated. The dome was cozy, warm, and comfortable, with a very comfortable king-size bed and a small seating area perfect for relaxing. Check-in was smooth, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We were also impressed by the shared kitchen facilities, which were spacious, modern, and fully equipped with everything needed. The shared bathrooms were exceptionally clean at all times, with fresh towels consistently available. Even without seeing the aurora, this was still one of the most memorable nights of our trip. We would love to return in winter to experience it from a different perspective.
Hvammstangi Rhino Rock Cottages
The cottage is really clean, warm and cute. There is everything you need to cook. The host gave us a warm welcome with lots of advices for things to do around the peninsula. I would definitely come again !
