It is close to cardrona alpine ski resort. The owner is very responsive and friendly. The place contains everything we need as a ski resort. The kitchen has all equipment for making descent and nice meals. we love the communal spa and we made some friends there.

Highly recommended for any solo traveler or couple looking to stay near Wanaka area and want a budget option after camping for a while! It’s super cheap but has everything that you need for a comfortable and comprehensive stay. It’s located about a quick 20 minute drive from Wanaka but it’s a lot less hectic in Cardrona. I personally HATED the craziness of Wanaka. It’s in a very quiet and secluded setting of family condos. The bed consists of two separate beds pushed together, and is super comfy, with soft and new linens. I felt the blanket/comforter was perfect for the low temps at night. The bathroom is very nice and shower runs hot. Washer and dryer worked great and there’s also a big tub for washing other outdoor gear or equipment. The mini kitchen has stovetops, microwave, mini fridge, utensils and Tupperware, and an electric kettle. Check-in was very easy, and you can park directly in front of the door.

Wow, this is such a stunning, luxurious modern apartment with everything. Exceptionally clean, very comfortable bedding and kitchen with an abundance of everything you could possible need. Sitting on the veranda admiring the mountains, and then there is the pool and jacuzzi we enjoyed each afternoon. We like that you can park car outside front door, very convenient. Dinner next door at Cardona Hotel was another highlight (we booked in advance as recommended by Host, and glad we did as you can’t just turn up hoping to get a table!) This location made for a nice day drive into Arrowtown and Queenstown.
