Our host was absolutely amazing and welcoming - he arranged money exchange for us at the best available rates, he took us downtown on the very first day, he found cheap transport to Tipaza or Chrea, and many others. As for the apartment, it was fully equipped although the beds were quite narrow. The terrace and view were fantastic. We also enjoyed the cable car that offers a cheap and smooth ride to the vicinity of the apartment. If you’re looking for something more genuine, this place is a must!

Gaston the host goes out of his way to make sure you have a good stay. From the free transfer from the airport to giving you free tours around the city and taking you to restaurants, helping with money exchanges and then providing support for your onward journey in Algeria. Gaston was always available on the phone or WhatsApp no matter where you were in Algeria. His assistant Sammy is a great local guide for Algiers as well and always available as well. We hired a car from Gaston as well, which was good. The apartment is spotlessly clean and in a safe, working class neighbourhood with nice markets and simple local food nearby which we liked. The main attractions are about 20 to 30 minutes walk away, for example the Grand Post. The apartment has a nice courtyard with tropical plants in it which we liked.
