Everything was great. - The location is close to the harbor; - They arranged the transfer from the Airport and to the ferry; - They had a bike to rent for us; - They did our laundry at the same day; - We could use their fridge to store food. The staff was really helpful and friendly. A great choice for a night in Padang.

The owner is super friendly and helpful. He is available on Whatsapp and is very responsive. He picked me up from the bus station and also drove me there when I was leaving Bukit Lawang. He gave lots of good, accurate and useful information regarding transportation and prices and restaurant recommendations. The room was clean. It wasn't pristine and perfect but it was nice and I was very comfortable. Remember, this is in the jungle basically, so there will be some insects from time to time and even a few geckos, but they are really cute! They have mosquito nets, so you feel safe from the creepy crawlies. But there weren't many of them anyway. And finally, do the tour with them! The prices are not extraordinarily cheap, but they are in line with everywhere else. I asked around, and they were all the same price, so honestly, I would be careful if you found a tour that is "too cheap." The guide, Putra, spoke English well, and he helped us find 4 organgutans and other animals in the off-season. The food was plentiful and delicious (thank you, Bruno, the cook).

Excellent value not far from Chinatown (walking distance). Safe parking. A/C rooms on 2nd floor with desk, good wifi and private bathroom. We liked the well-equipped common space and the shared kitchen. Coffee, Eggs and toast were available, even an espresso machine to brew "Gayo Black Honey". We extended our stay to 5 days because we enjoyed the place so much.

Rating: 10/10 I really enjoyed my stay here. It was a beautiful place and I had a great time. It was possible to make tea and coffee without paying extra and it would have been possible to watch TV. The owner Izoen was very friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome and relaxed. I only regret not planning more time to relax in Bukit Lawang. I hope to come back one day!

We wanted somewhere different to spend Christmas and came across Valhalla house online, the house was as amazing as it looks in the pictures and was right on the beach that you have to yourself! The house was clean & comfortable and had everything we needed - water, towels, cooking facilities etc! As the island was quite remote we were struggling to find how to get there and get around but Marcelo, the host, went above and beyond to help us out with flights and ferries. His communication was great, and he gave us some great food recommendations as well as a contact for surf lessons, which we all really enjoyed on Christmas day, and was just so helpful with all of the questions we had! Marcelo also put us in touch with a local, Dolman, who drove us to and from the airport, even though the roads were bad he made it so easy for us to get around by providing bikes at a really good price. Overall we had an amazing stay at Valhalla and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing time on a paradise island, surrounded by local culture, beautiful beaches and lots surfing!!

This place is just amazing. So chill and peaceful — right in the middle of the jungle. There’s not a lot to do here, but honestly, that’s exactly the point. The people are super kind and show you a lot about local life. You’re completely surrounded by nature — it doesn’t get more authentic than this. We first stayed in the city, but I’d come here ten times over instead. I planned to stay one night and ended up staying two weeks. Absolutely loved it!
