Pool was well-maintained and the AC was a life-saver. Couldn’t ask for a better placement beside the beach and local restaurants/cafés. Staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and approachable and the kitchen allowed us to prep our own food and drinks on top of nipping across the road to bar and pop-up shops.

Rating: 10/10 I really enjoyed my stay here. It was a beautiful place and I had a great time. It was possible to make tea and coffee without paying extra and it would have been possible to watch TV. The owner Izoen was very friendly and helpful. I felt very welcome and relaxed. I only regret not planning more time to relax in Bukit Lawang. I hope to come back one day!

We wanted somewhere different to spend Christmas and came across Valhalla house online, the house was as amazing as it looks in the pictures and was right on the beach that you have to yourself! The house was clean & comfortable and had everything we needed - water, towels, cooking facilities etc! As the island was quite remote we were struggling to find how to get there and get around but Marcelo, the host, went above and beyond to help us out with flights and ferries. His communication was great, and he gave us some great food recommendations as well as a contact for surf lessons, which we all really enjoyed on Christmas day, and was just so helpful with all of the questions we had! Marcelo also put us in touch with a local, Dolman, who drove us to and from the airport, even though the roads were bad he made it so easy for us to get around by providing bikes at a really good price. Overall we had an amazing stay at Valhalla and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing time on a paradise island, surrounded by local culture, beautiful beaches and lots surfing!!

Great location on a main street, right next to a shopping mall with plenty of local eateries nearby. The unit is clean and well maintained. The actual unit is as the pictures. I was initially a bit concerned about the bathroom, as many in Indonesia are “wet bathrooms” where water from the shower tends to spread to other areas. However, a proper enclosed (and clean) shower curtain was installed, which effectively kept the shower area contained and the rest of the bathroom dry. This was a great touch. The host’s communication was excellent; prompt, clear, and very helpful throughout. Check-in and check-out instructions were also straightforward and easy to follow.
