Our best stay so far in japan. The surrounding area is beautiful and you find a lovely beach every 5 minutes. To host was very nice, giving us tips for our route and being very welcoming all round. The rooms very nicely done. Wished we stayed for longer, giving us more time to explore the area. The other people in the surrounding villages were also very friendly and curious. Cant recommend it highly enough!

We stayed for two nights to explore the local area. It was very comfortable and spacious with a modern design. Great view out over the bay towards the sunset, including from the bath. Breakfast and dinner at the associated restaurant excellent. Recommend walk along seafront to Shiroyama Park and beyond and fresh local seafood lunch at Umikara.

By far my favourite place to stay in Japan so far. The ladies who welcomed us was so incredibly sweet; they showed us around and one of them even took us to the local shrine so my kids could enjoy the ice cream I had purchased from their sister store.

We were surprised by this house, it looks newly decorated, very clean and neat. Kitchen is well equipped with cooking tools, so we went to the closest supermarket (around 15 min walk from the house) to buy groceries for dinner and breakfast the next day. We had the whole entire house to ourselves which was lovely. The house is spacious with 4 western beds, 2 on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor, there are 2 tatami area, one on the ground floor and one one the first floor, so the entire house could easier sleeps 8 adults. There is also a modern toilet and a good sized changing and bathroom area. Big parking space in front of the house and could easily park 2 cars, but since we took the train there, we arrived at the Awaraosen Station (芦原温泉駅), then took the bus to the Awara-Yunomachi (あわら湯のまち) area, and the house is just a few minutes walk from the bus stop we got off. Even walking to the Awara-Yunomachi station or the main hot spring area, is just around 10 minutes. Point to note, buses between Awaraosen Station and Awara-Yunomachi area are not very frequent, so best to check the timetable. The host is a lovely lady, super friendly and kind.
