The real question is…what DIDN’T we like?!?! This charming hotel in the middle of the mountains of Planitero was exactly as advertised and so much more. To sleep, wake up and eat with the sight and sound of a river was a calming way to start, continue and end each day. The hotel itself was like the like photos on the site, but again…so much more than a picture will describe. Not only incredibly clean, but felt warm and cozy. Not cluttered with too many unnecessary details. It felt genuine. The rooms were perfect in every way. Comfortable beds, comfortable sheets. Fantastic after a long day of traveling around. The complimentary breakfast was delightful!!! A perfect way to start the day. With a meal by a calm, babbling brook Coffee lovers with enjoy their special blend (made especially for the hotel) Meats, cheeses, homemade bread, yogurt, homemade marmalade and jam and also their own honey!! The hotel owners (one sister and two brothers) were I think the best part of the stay. Free to have a conversation. Incredibly helpful of where to go around the area. Just….really nice people. Genuine. I would recommend this place to anyone who want to get away from the worries of the world and be enchanted by this Grecian gem.

Completo con un jardín y una terraza, pikralida house (πικραλίδα) está ubicado en Kalavrita, a 45 km de Chelmos-Vouraikos National Park y a 39 km de Lake Tsivlou. The apartment was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped to cook meals. There were a bowl of fruit, pancakes, milk and various other items provided. The firewood was provided to use in the fireplace (which we loved). The hostess was very accommodating, available at all times and she called a couple of times to check to see if we needed anything. The location was great, close to town and the train station. There were two flat screen televisions located in the living room and the bedroom. The shower in the bathroom is big and had very good water pressure. We will return to this apartment. We highly recommend to anyone to stay here when visiting Kalavryta.
