There is nothing to dislike about the Nomad Inn. It’s a beautiful house with gorgeous views. The owner, Mr Masa is a very sweet person who was always happy to give suggestions and guide us. He helped us with our luggage and transportation as well, I can’t thank him enough. The house is close to attractions while being in a quiet area and also has all amenities you would need. I really wish I’d booked more time but will definitely be back

Situated in a tranquil area in Gifu Region, a 52-minute drive away from JR Takayama Station, Mozumo boasts a hot-spring bath and rooms decorated with modern Japanese interior. Everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, we felt wonderful—the staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our entire stay. The stay itself was the highlight of our trip to Japan. We’re already in another city and still keep thinking about it! The room was very spacious, the beds were amazing, and the little terrace—plus the private onsen—was just unbeatable. Imagine soaking in the onsen while looking out into the forest. It’s incredibly calming. We also recommend trying the local breakfast and dinner (book in advance); it’s a truly exceptional culinary experience. Thank you so much for the best stay in the world! We would love to come back.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station. Everything was extraordinarily well handled. Dinner and breakfast were phenomenal. The staff was extremely friendly and spoke good english. There is an impressive wine collection and a very knowlegeable owner to cater to your tastes during dinner. The surrounding area is very calm and close to the forest for some serene walking in the morning. Probably the best place i have stayed in my month of traveling in Japan.

널찍한 공중 목욕탕이 마련된 일본식 전통 객실을 제공하는 Yatsusankan-Children 6 years and older only은 JR 히다후루카와 기차역에서 도보 6분 거리에 위치한 숙박 시설로, 공용 구역에서 무료 Wi-Fi를 제공합니다. 추가 비용으로 전용 온천탕을 이용할 수 있습니다. 죄송하게도 예상 체크인 시간보다 훨씬 늦게 가게 되었는데(무려 4시간 이상 늦었어요 😭), 오히려 인근 히다 후루카와 역까지 픽업 서비스와 함께 저녁 식사를 준비해주셔서 감동했습니다. 다시한번 제 늦은 체크인으로 고생하셨을 직원분들께 죄송하고 또 감사한 마음이에요... 그리고 외국인의 입장에서, 일본의 전통이 느껴지는 시설과 직원분들의 의상, 료칸이 있는 동네의 분위기까지 잘 어우러져서 잠시나마 멋진 테마파크에 갔다온 느낌도 들었습니다. 료칸 직원분들의 진심 어린 친절이 느껴지는 서비스도 정말 감사했어요!! 맛도 좋고 건강하게 느껴지는 가이세키도 좋았고, 온천 시설도 말할 것 없이 좋았어요.... 특히 대욕장에 있는 노천탕에서의 시간은 잊지 못할 것 같아요 :) 다음에는 봄 시즌에 다시 가서, 또 다른 야츠산칸의 정취를 느껴보고 싶습니다.

다카야마 중심부 내 편리한 장소에 자리한 左京山SAkyozan에서는 무료 Wi-Fi, 정원, 차량으로 오는 투숙객을 위한 무료 전용 주차장을 제공합니다. 숙소는 스키장과 연결된 입구뿐 아니라 스키 보관소도 갖추고 있으며, 다카야마역에서 19분 거리, 히다 민속촌에서 3.8km 거리에 있습니다. We had an amazing stay at SAkyozan. The home was extremely comfortable, very clean and the design was just gorgeous. In addition, there were so many small touches included in the home that showed how much the host cared about the comfort of her guests. We were travelling with parents and spent 4 nights there. The living and dining room area is very spacious and comfortable for us to spend time together as a family. The kitchen is very well equipped with cooking utensils, crockery, an electric cooking hob, an oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and even a dishwasher. We were very keen to find a place with a kitchen as it was important to us to be able to prepare some meals at home. There are two bedrooms and each bedroom had a small living room area as well as an ensuite - a lot of space for all of us. SAkyozan is very conveniently located and yet not situated on a busy street, which we preferred. It is also an easy walk from the home to most places in Takayama. We visited Takayama in February when it was still very cold and snowing but the home was always warm and cosy. It would also be remiss not to mention how wonderful the host is. She is very sweet, meticulous and simply went above and beyond just to help us with all of our requests. She is certainly as good, if not better than many 5-star hotel concierge and butler services. Initially, we were not sure if 4 nights would be too long for Takayama as it is a small town but we now wished we had stayed longer! We found Takayama to be a great place to be based for several day trips around the region, such as Shirakawago and Shinhotaka Ropeway.

Location, private onsen in the suite, kaiseki dinner is elegant and delicious, so is the delicious breakfast, both served in our room, it’s a great experience. The staffs are very warm and helpful. It gave free entrance ticket to the big public onsen which is a great extra benefit.
